I wouldn't discard it for a $600M dom too. If TWE reaches 5b Yuan that means around $735m, not just $650m. Anyway, I agree that there are several candidates in USA to match that amount (my main bet is TLK).

I thought last Saturday was part of the Chinese New Year holiday period. Can someone clarify which days were the Chinese New Year holiday period (someone said it only had 6 days this year?)? And was this current weekend a working weekend? Edited February 15, 2019 by Ay72998

But if you all say it's gonna end up above 700M++ ... then I'd say there will be a photo finish situation between TWE, TLK, EG and IX imo. Since Friday wasn't that backoaded from Pre Sales, can Saturday bump be bigger 🙄 1 ¥135mn at 16:00, added ¥98mn since morning. Shall final Saturday at ¥238-245mn. This weekend will be around 600-625M, so it will require around 3x from this weekend to reach 5B. Daily holds have normalised now. 3x is neither too difficult, nor is it locked when it comes to Chinese box office. If next weekend drops under 50%, it will have a good shot.

There is a Lantern festival holiday in weekdays, that will help. Assuming ¥610mn 2nd weekend, it will be at ¥3.787 Billion by Sunday. Another ¥400mn in weekdays will put it at ¥4.19 Billion. a2k
Frozen did $48 in China which as animations film go is not bad for 2013. I2 was only $2-3m above that last year. TS3 did not release in China according to Mojo. Feel Frozen2 should double TS4.

According to Maoyan Toy Story 3 was released for one day (it could be that the daily tracking wasn't available, so everything was dumped onto 1 day). http://piaofang.maoyan.com/movie/727/boxshow It gained ¥177.63m which is roughly $17.2m in 2010 June.

Frozen did that without ticket booking charges, so the gross as per reporting today, would be $51.5mn Approx. However in local currency, Frozen did ¥298mn and Incredibles 2 did ¥354mn. Toy Story 3 as per Maoyan did ¥117mn but all in single day. Weird. But I guess they just put total gross. http://m.maoyan.com/movie/727/box?_v_=yes
