When a movie drop in China, it can drop really fast, like droping a rock in a well, as seen with GITS and JTTW2 (even 300m+ OD couldnt guarantee 1.5B with so long holidays.)

Looks today will be short of 215m, awful drop in summer.

It seem that TF5 has already collapse internally before any new competition, chinese are not idiotic, would not easily fooled by garbage bay

It will end with $230m. TF4 made this number by 10 days.

Yeah, but it's not as if the previous 3 Transformers were good...

 

I find it interesting that it seems to be a Worldwide reaction.    It's dropping hard almost everywhere - could be a 45% drop WW.  Almost as bad as the Ice Age plummet. (also after a series of poor movies with the last being the nadir)

PS for tomorrow looking to come in at 14m and should be 5x. 70m might happen and would be -66%.  Thats a horrible hold for a summer monday. A few films held -50s last Monday.  

 

Nothing big next Friday. Would be a shame to have a 90% drop without competition. 

 

After april and may having decent bumps YoY, june is going to be close to flat at 3900m.

 

So no big local movies opening on the 30th or the 7th with DM3.  What happened?  in years past they had some sizeable openers on these dates.

The two won't come into play till late August so I don't think that will have much effect.

TF5 on pace to 85m today,horrible drop if you consider Alien dropped 56% last Monday.Other film will drop around 30% thanks to TF5.

TF5  will be at 1275m on the second sunday if it has 20% daily drops this week and with a slightly larger weekend than WC.  I think it beats WC, barely, which fell out of bed its 3rd weekend. TF5 will have DM3 which wont be huge or direct competition

1500m/$220m the target.

TF4 got away with $320m in 2014, you mean TF5 will get $90m less in china? (when the run is over)
