Sometimes the numbers are adjusted way after the movie has ended its run if updated numbers are released or something. As for what the studio and distrubuters use, I read in an article that its done on a daily basis during the run itself. But sufficient to say we dont know what mechanism they use for this. Homecoming had a cast of really annoying 30something "teenagers" from Parker's school.
