THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY grossed an estimated $6.95 million on Monday and has now grossed $228.69 million to date domestically.

PARENTAL GUIDANCE grossed an estimated $4.7 million on Monday and has now grossed $34.04 million to date domestically.

DJANGO UNCHAINED grossed an estimated $5.168 million on Monday and has now grossed $68.61 million to date domestically.

Django's drop is the hardest, Reacher showing some nice holds. Lincoln increased, Spielberg is again showing everyone why he's the Box Office King. Nolan and Cameron are distant followers.

Cameron is undisputed king.

Cameron made more money with Avatar than Spielberg with his last 7 movies!

It makes absolutely no sense to compare Spielberg and Cameron opuses since Spielberg made more movies and produced more including TF. However, since Spielberg had the highest grossing movies in 70s and 80s, Cameron is that for 90s and aughts. Spielberg hasn`t had a hit like JP since JP.
