Let's face it, this movie is "disaster Porn" and people might not be in the mood for it after seeing on TV the kind of suffereing and tragedy huge storms cause in real life. They would be smart to put it back until next spring.

The movie has been delayed long enough. Just release it and put it out of its misery already.

Is a sub-20M total possible after these past few weeks? It doesn't help the release date is already crowded as fuck. Tbh I'm starting to think this will be the lowest grossing non-Pure Flix film of the 20th.

But Warners would take a huge PR hit for releasing it in the wake of Harvey and Irma. Just delay it again. It would still probably bomb, but you would not take a huge PR hit.

You also got to look at the corporate image beating Warners would take for releasing this so soon after Harvey and Irma. Smart move put  it back to the spring and minimize the damage.

They're too deep into marketing to delay it now. This will open poorly and be in very few theaters by Thanksgiving.

As Han said, they're just gonna take the write-off. Hell, they probably have considering how long this has been sitting on the shelf.
