Eric Quinn
I’m watching the Thanksgiving parade, and they just showed a balloon of Grinch in the Illumination art style. Uni and Illuminati really does have an incredible marketing team.

JB33
This will be massive next year, no doubt about it. Illumination Entertainment + holiday classic = $$$$$$$.

Hiccup23
This is gonna be a massive hit. So much potential 1. First major family Christmas film in years. 2. Well-loved and known story....nostalgia factor 3. Illumination is on a red hot streak 4. No Star Wars over the Holiday season. 350M-400M domestic finish. cannastop
I don't know why, but I'm still skeptical about this Grinch. There are already so many versions of this story. Will people really go for another one? Edited November 25, 2017 by cannastop

I guess the hook of the Grinch being CGI this time will really get them.

Fancyarcher
This is gonna be big. Illumination's non-stop marketing will be out in full force.

Of course, but if it opened a few weeks later it'd have a bigger opening and smaller (non-existent) drops? It'll make a ridiculous amount of money regardless. That gives me far more hope at least where quality is concerned than that Jim Carrey mess that became the highest grossing film of 2000 by some nightmarish twist of reality. a2k
Grinch over Incred2? If Grinch does 300-400, a sequel could happen. Edited November 26, 2017 by a2knet

The Jim Carrey version died fast (dropped 40% on New Years when everything else went way up) and this is going to face the same problem, so better to release it as early as possible. Jonwo
I'm surprised they didn't release a teaser trailer. I mentioned it before but I wonder if this like the Lorax will skew more domestic as Dr Seuss isn't as loved OS. I could see Grinch doing more than Ralph domestically but Ralph outgrossing it OS.
