Kvikk Lunsj
Oz won't bomb. Most likely it'll have a slightly above "mediocre" opening. $70M? Maybe $80M? Studio wants $100M+ but that ain't happening. I am thinking a 50m OW.
baumer
Argo is funny. It's going to make about another 1.8 mill this weekend and you can now buy it on BR for about 25 bucks. Two people going to the show to see it will cost them more than that if popcorn and such. Good for it though.

It's going to pull a big PTA this weekend for a movie in its fifteenth weekend, but you can buy it on iTunes now for $15. Granted, I'm sure many want to see it in 3D, but it's obvious that when there's no competition for good movies (i.e this weekend), the older good movies stick around.
Jandrew
2013's box office is so anemic right now. I know a few reasons. Summer should be sure fire, but hopefully March and April pick up. http://jaysonb593.blogspot.com/2013/03/2013-to-emergency-room.html

I'm much more impressed by Oogieloves' ability to still be losing money in its 21st weekend of non-release.

I guess people want to see it on the big screen and get that theater experience.

MovieGuyKyle17
I'm hungry for a good theater experience.....Die Hard and Broken City sucked and even though Warm Bodies was good, someone brought their entire family with them which included 3 kids all under the age of 8....ya that was great to hear little kids during that movie. I recently saw Side Effects and it was really good, I'd recommend that (if you haven't seen it already and it's still playing somewhere by you).

I was gonna see Side Effects this week but already left the theaters around here which disappointed me. Plus I always wanted to see a movie without knowing much about it and since I saw nothing for that movie and I heard its good I felt it was the perfect film. Sadly I missed it

Mayhem2x3
If that Sat number is good, would Sunday really fall that hard and be smaller than Fri? Shouldn't it be looking at a 30M?

kayumanggi
March and April 2013 could be good but they won't match 2012. The true battle begins this summer.
