The late April Marvel releases often coincide with ANZAC Day in Australia/NZ so it's an added complication when trying to make a comparison. Night time business will be down, but it wouldn't surprise me if Guardians squeezed past The Avengers 4-day. This has opened quite a lot bigger than expected I think. Considering Captain America had no big competition until X-Men, it was surprising it barely outgrossed BvS. It should be at £28-29m or so by Sunday which will be close to the first films lifetime total. Very good weekend for other films too. Boss Baby has had a really great run, and it looks like it could get past £30m in the end. It has no virtually no competition until Pirates, and there's no big animated film until Despicable Me 3 in the end of June.
