ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS: THE ROAD CHIP | 12.18.15 | Fox | final domestic gross: $85,886,987

Recommended Posts

As far as i know...the "Chipmunks" flicks have had a consistent budget.

First one was at $60M budget. Both the sequels had $75M budget. They are trying to keep the budget of this franchise as cheap as possible.

And they have been consistent with their WW gross.

First one made $361M WW. Second one made $443M WW. The third one made $342M WW. Dunno how this one will do...probably $220-250M WW...if that.

I would be surprised if something would save Alvin this time. China probably.

If I'm forcibly subjected to it (as I was at Shaun the Sheep) I have the right to insult it. I wasn't going to say anything but I find this attitude that kids movies should be beyond reproach to be offensive to both kids and movies

tell that to the millions of kids who had a great time watching the Minions movie whilst most on here slated it lol. its a kids movie, for kids, with a kiddie sense of humour. Its not insulting to anyone.

I have no comment on Minions, but you shouldn't defend/excuse it just because it's a kids movie. There should be actual qualities of the movie that you enjoy.

If a movie's main demographic is kids... so what? Why can't we have our opinions on it?

If a superhero movie is aimed at comic book fans, are non comic book fans allowed an opinion? Yes, of course they are.

Bad filmmaking should not be excused because it's aimed at kids.

Three Alvin movies, all of them stinkers. Too bad the film industry does not have a "3 strikes and your're out" rule.

I think Fox's luck with this franchise will run out with this one. And the only reason they were profitiable was that they were so cheaply made...and it shows in the quality of the animatation.
