At the current rate, BFI IMAX and Odeon Leicester Square will sell out their 8pm shows for opening day within the next few hours

Seems to be selling considerably slower in the North. The Thursday 7:20pm IMAX at Sheffield Cineworld currently only has around 60-70 tickets sold out of 550, and the midnight showing currently has 23 sold.

I’m sure it’ll pick up, but they normally sell faster than this, especially the midnights.

From what I've seen with the last few, Bond presales are very up front in London, but demand doesn't go as crazy as say an Avengers or Star Wars presale. When Force Awakens tickets went on sale, the IMAX I'm going to had already sold out for midnight and Friday night by this time of the day.

Yeah TFA was insane, I remember Cineworld Sheffield putting them on sale and the midnight showing was practically sold out in minutes. Never seen anything like it.

That said, Bond is normally no slouch. The 8pm first showing of Spectre sold out quite quickly, although 8pm is obviously easier for more people than midnight, plus obviously the pandemic might be causing people to wait a bit before getting tickets.

wow the OLS is genuinely looking like it will sell out Thursday night...almost scary to see a full capacity no distance screening like this - thank god it's a big venue and there's good distance between the rows in stalls. ended up splurging (though not as much as one could thanks to Limitless) for an extra seat on the side just for distancing (which I also did for Manchester after I saw the prices - 10.99! and the BFI IMAX in comparison is 29!)

fuck I've been waiting for so long for this, gonna be kinda shameless here - whatever it takes for the safest and best experience. still kicking myself for completely missing Tenet and zero idea if it's gonna come back to the BFI any time soon (missed the one time they screened earlier this summer) but so so so ready for this!

Sold out OLS was incredible for Avengers Endgame and TROS, but no social distancing in there right now would genuinely be my nightmare, especially if you’re in the back section in the “cheap” seats.

Looks like Cineworld have upped their prices just in time for this. When I got my tickets last night it was £15.74 per IMAX ticket, now it’s £17.74. Regular tickets were £10.74 but now show £12.74. Not sure if it’s just for NTTD as Shang Chi is still £15.74 for tonight’s showing.

2D show at mine for a Thursday has gone from £9 to £15 which is suuuuuper messed up. Never seen a 2D show outside London that expensive without a recliner.

That’s insane. I actually hope this bites them in the arse and people flock to other chains. Where I am, you can see it at Cineworld for £12.74 or go across the road to VUE and see it for £5.99 (or even £4.99 if you go off peak).

If it weren’t for the IMAX, I’d have definitely gone elsewhere.

just got through on her majesty's secret service on the rewatch. I always thought it was a bit of a hipster pick when people say it's their favourite but i get it more now. Big level up in the filmmaking from the previous ones, especially love the kinetic editing of some sequences. not sure i can call it a favourite because i do find lazenby bland and it's a little overlong but definitely a lot better than I've given it credit it's like a real movie. there isn't going to be genuine emotion in these again until casino royale.

Not only have I been losing money on Cineworld's stock but I'm now also paying them for their monthly subscription again.

Halfway through From Russia with Love. What horny executive demanded there to be a scene where two gypsies wrestled each other in the mud for no reason?

Yeah lol. The first half of that movie isn't great, but the part where they get on the train and on was pretty spectacular I thought
