Honestly it's almost tragic how invigorating and promising Casino Royale was and how they pretty much blew it when it came to delivering on that promise. Skyfall is fun and all but still only on its own, lesser terms. Though I guess you could also retroactively say that about GoldenEye and I just got to see CR at exactly the right moment to get carried away.

It's been 4 movies each one ending with "Now James Bond is the James Bond you know". It's a never ending origin story.

As a long time 007 fan, one thing you learn is that when it comes to James Bond it's like Sex and Pizza;people have strong opinions as to what is good and what is bad.

IMHO The Craig era got off to an absoulely great start with Casino Royale; It near the top of my list of Bond films.

Quantum Of Solace was a huge, huge, drop in quality.

Skyfall regained momentum: It's a really good Bond though not in my top Ten.

Spectre was another drop, though it's not nearly as weak as Quatum was.

I am old school;I consider From Russia With Love and Goldfinger to tie for the best Bond film;consider A View To A Kill to be the worst Bond film, with Die Another Day a close second for worst 007 film.

I'm not too surprised it's IMAX 70mm-Sandgren mostly shoots on film anyway.

Casino Royale and Skyfall are both top tier Bond movies.

Spectre and Quantum much less so.

Spectre is obviously didn't live up to expectations after Skyfall but I've always been a bit puzzled by the people calling it really bad, it was entertaining enough for me.  Quantum on the other hand, now that was a steaming pile of shit and a crushing disappointment after Casino Royale.  Quantum of Solace is in the bottom 5 of the whole franchise IMO.

I absolutely love the footage. Fukanaga was a good choice. Looking forward to this!

I hope he brings in a good choice for composer too (nothing against Thomas Newman, because I liked the Skyfall score, but Spectre was a step down).

Maybe Daniel Pemberton, Alexandre Desplat, Howard Shore, or the return of David Arnold?

Agree with nearly all of this, except View to a Kill being the worst. Die Another Day is THE worst one by some distance.

desplat would be great. his few action scores are excellent and probably his best work.

i would rather have newman again than arnold tho. arnold good, but not when doing bond.

Or an unconventional choice like Hans Zimmer or James Newton Howard

I can't see Zimmer doing it unless Nolan's involved. Plus, looking at his 2020 schedule, he looks a little too busy.

Howard, maybe, so long as it's better than his work on Fantastic Beasts.

Hiddleston is already 38 and looks 45. no thanks. Cast someone younger and good looking.

joe alwyn? he'd be 30-31 when they start shooting

According to Yahoo, they're thinking of looking at Scottish actors.

In which case, I'd go with Jack Lowden.
