Probably helps that the character Tilda was cast as was a bit of an orientalist stereotype. Sort of like Mandarin, but without the yellow peril aspect.

She was a character created by the Japanese for the Japanese. 

 

Anyway I'm not seeing this. It looks okay though. The whole thing uses Japanese imagery with non Japanese character it seems lol.

It's an adaptation so having a Westerner is fine. Things are different for movies about History or Legends, you can't whitewash Mulan for example, or even blackwash her lol 

But in an adaptation? Totally fine

The main character is called Motoko Kusanagi, lives in japan, speaks Japanese, works for a japanese secret government task force against threats against Japan state but still she's not japanese but "ethnically unspecified"...

If you want to recover you can do what I did : I completely stopped watching/reading news since then! I didn't see his face or hear his voice since then, it's like he disappeared you know

Sure, I have no idea of what happened in the world or even in France since Wednesday morning but that pumped me up so much, you can't even imagine how wonderful it is

As long as I can read news related to videogames, movies, science and the economy I'm totally fine, I can hold on that way until 2020
