Weekend#s: Neeson wins. Non Stop 30M | Son of God 26.5M | Lego 21M | Frozen crosses 1B WW

Recommended Posts

Good early reports - not surprised at all by the SOG #'s my Facebook feed is filled with people talking about going this weekend (or tonight).

Would be awesome if Non-Stop could duplicate OHF from last year - March needs a good kick off

can Non Stop reach 30m with that Friday?

If it behaves like,

Pompeii - 31.5m

Grey - 31.86m

Unknown - 34.05m

EDIT: Even with Oscar Sunday it can touch 30m if 10.5m Friday holds...10.5 + 13.23(+26%) + 6.35(-52%) = 30.08m

Son of God should win Sunday easily though, given the fact that its the type of film that has great Sunday, tons of people I know want to see this anyway.

The only film in March I want to see really is Muppets.

(On another note-February is the 2nd hardest month to break the record for-use to be the hardest, but since I don't see March being broken in the next decade...though who would of thought Alice go down so fast? Still it wont be broken anytime soon, February, maybe if an animated film that is big enough comes out...)

yeah it looks normally 30m would be possible but Oscar Sunday will prevent this. Not sure why they chose this weekend for release

Non-Stop and Son of God's target audience aren't necessarily people who care about the Oscars.

Also-Sunday nights are just not crowded for films as Friday or Saturday nights. The Oscars are late enough in the evening that it wont make a difference for any movie.

Most of those drops were normal for those films-remember the Oscars are late enough at night on Sunday, which is not a night people go crazy to the movies for unless if it's the Summer or a holiday.

Watched Gravity with the parents. First time they saw anything in 3D. They were amazed and didn't bother me with the usual stuff that Asian parents do.

I'm like... super buzzed at the moment and all I can think of is a song from youth group jesus camp from when I was young: Our God is an awesome god.

Whether your god is Liam or Jesus, this weekend is going to be awesome.
