It might not happen...but i do hope Toy Story 4 has higher theater counts than Pets 2. It deserves a theater count record. Only this time the difference is....now people want to see this film and that TS4 is doing well in presales.

Judging by Sacramento theater counts, I'd be very surprised.  Looks like Disney is going for the more concentrated SW/Marvel* rollout here.

The whole necessary/unnecessary divide that emerged last night in social media reviews pretty much sunk the idea of it landing in the high 80s/low 90s, IMO.

 

Really, this seems to be a like/love movie versus a like/dislike movie. As such a mid 80s MC seems perfectly cromulent.

Regardless of the franchise's previous reception, an 84 on MC is amazing considering how much doubt this movie has had to deal with from the beginning
