It does count. You know the difference between installment/sequel and franchise, right?

sure, my bad. In my wording you are correct, but out of principal it does not count :). or we can add SM, X-men and Fantastic Four to the same franchise.

8. Tomorrowland $235m

9. The Good Dinosaur - $230m

10. Fast and Furious 7 - $218m

Don't think Ant Man will pass $200m and not so sure Fast 7 will be as successful as Fast 6 because of more crowded film market next year, but could be wrong on that.

Think the 14 year break from Jurassic Park will do the series a lot of good, social media went mental for a couple of days after the trailer was released, trended for ages.

Reason I feel Avengers 2 will drop on Avengers is because the novelty of seeing all the superheroes together for the first time together will no longer be there. Also think it's only a matter of time before audiences start calming down on the superhero genre a bit, do not think superheroes will dominate the box office forever.

Think Terminator will struggle to get more than $130m, first trailer look poor. Recon Ted 2 will earn no where near the first film, maybe $150m, nowhere near as bad a drop as Hangover 3 had on Hangover 2 though.

And finally Star Wars, I think it will do very well of course. The buzz for the film is unreal already. Add in 3D prices, old faces returning, new faces and a whole new fresh story away from the stale prequels, I can see it hitting the late $500 millions, or low $600m. Believe lots more people will return to give this Star Wars a chance who may have given up on Episode 2 or 3.

2012 had five, so I think it's possible but not in 2015. 2016 and 2017 could have six each.

Sorry, should have clarified. I didn't mean the record will never be broken, but that the chance of 2015 breaking the record is nil. 2015 having 6 $300M films is never gonna happen. :P

In no particular order:

Avengers 2

Star Wars 7

Inside Out

Minions

Furious 7

Mockingjay 2

Cinderella

Spectre

Mission Impossible 5

The last slot is probably a fight between Jurassic World, Ant-Man, The Good Dinosaur, or The Peanuts Movie.

At best, I can see four films crossing $300m. It's probably going to be just 3, though.
