I would actually say that 302 over performed from expectations. It was supposed to bomb but it actually did 3 times its budget without a China release as well.

This summers top movie is the lowest grosser in the past 14 years. 2000 had MI2 as top #1 with 215m. It GOTG could go on to beat 2001, but thats how far it would go.

It made 10.2M for the week. As for the weekend, it had a very strong 2.2M start in Venezuela.

I was joking about the Jessica Alba thing.She never was a draw but won tons of sexiest woman in the world titles in men s magazines so there s that.She was so sexy in that failed James Cameron tv show dark angel.

So, GotG will be #1 film of the year by next Fri or Sat, giving Disney-Marvel top 2 spots so far. With BH6, they could have 3 movies in top 5 of the year.
