There's a lot of good grosses spread across the board, and many off-season/unexpected hits, so in that sense, 2014 has opened up he box office a lot. It's just that it hasn't had the massive breakthrough domestically that makes tracking and theater owners really excited.

There's part of me wondering whether some of the West Coast numbers were softer than expected. I wasn't sure about blaming the earthquake, but it possibly could've affected attendance, a little bit at least.

 

I actually listed that as one reason for not to be too sure about final numbers... poor shocked / injured... citizens there

 

 

I totally pointed out GOTG's Sunday estimate was too high yesterday.

 

Oh well, its good to be right. It's still a fantastic number for Guardians.

Nothing happened. Summer weekdays are over and with that Sunday drops are getting harsher. Next Friday pretty much every movie should see 100%+ increases.
