However critics sometimes miss that audiences sometimes connect to a movie emotionally and forget whatever "technical" mistakes were made.

I think a good example this year is Interstellar and classic example is Gladiator.

I think critcs matters but you are 100% rigth. Plus I dont believe in RT. Metacritic is better. Not perfect but better.

Calling us ladies? Are you a little sexist? That's kind of derogatory. I noticed that you said that you will never see Selma, so we know you might be racist and only like White male heroes, but now we know you are sexist, too. Wonderful.

OMG I can't even..... I had to quote this for evidence.

There are so many things wrong this this post gurl that even Sasha Stone will tell you your logic is fucked. And she's the queen of illogically arguing that people are racists and sexists. You ought to be ashamed of yourself.

First of all, ladies is just an expression and given how some of you guys were acting it wasn't unwarranted.

And secondly, your logic sucks. Let me point something out to you. Adim also said that he won't see 12YAS, and by your logic it might make him someone who doesn't like stories of black oppression and likes to see stories about white supremacy. Doesn't that make him pro slavery and a supporter of the KKK? You see how little sense and shit your argument is now? It is so biased, funny and flawed that I really don't k ow what to say to you anymore.

The problem with RT is that they can choose rather to count a review as positive or negative using any standard they want. They took a 2/5 review for Annie and counted it as positive.

Ando never trolls, you fools

Anyway, if there are Christmas day numbers, why nobody creates a thread?

Cus it's so early that they're pulling them out of their asses? If I'm still coherent enough to be posting, it's way too early on Christmas Day for numbers.

He was calling people "ladies" in an insulting way.  The same way teenagers call people "faggots" or "gay".  It might sound cool to your wannabe frat brothers, but it reveals your sexism.  And saying that he would never see Selma regardless of it winning awards is a sign of racism.  Yes, it is.  Plenty of people will be indifferent towards seeing Selma and not care about it either way....but that wasn't his attitude.

Thank you sister Ric you always got my back  "Sexist"

Meanwhile Dame is bringin the tears. Who knew Socialistina Jolie would go on to direct a roo-ha-ha American exceptionalism epic?

@FugateAboutIt_: Unbroken will have you walking out in tears & beyond proud to be an American. I highly recommend it.

@will_sands: A grown man coming out of "Unbroken" in tears looks like a good sign lol

@gmvalladares: Just saw Unbroken. Wow. I'm speechless. Incredible film based on a true story. This is the kind of film I would watch over and over again.

@VeejaySwagga: As draggy as Unbroken was, I still almost cried at the end. #Rollercoasteroffeelings

@alyssatedrow: I 100% recommend going to see Unbroken that movie was amazing, and I cried at least 4 times. It was so phenomenal.

@Beccaewaldxo: I think I cried more in Unbroken than I did in TFIOS...

Critics are worthless because they're worthless. They do this for a living. Cynical is a massive understatement.

Eh. Sometimes I agree w/ the critics, sometimes I don't. Like the movie August Rush, I love the film but the movie was trashed by critics and only had 34% RT.

Being a critic for a living has to be the best job ever.   You experience art and tell people what you think.   It is not relevant to other people in the slightest but you actually get paid to do it!

Amazing that this job was ever invented in the first place.

I also have no interest in watching Selma and still haven't seen 12YAS.

So am I also racist.

Ps. I'm black.

No, the problem with RT is that some people listed there are unable to write correctly 3 paragraphs .

Honestly, I find aDIM's taste in men far more offensive than anything he said here.

Okay first of all, there was nothing insulting about it. It was an expression towards your and other people's behaviour. Secondly, calling people faggots or gay is a totally different thing because the words carry and different connotation and are used in a different manner by 'wannabe frat brothers.' However, context is important, just as his use of the word ladies in context was in jest and as an expression, I will sometimes, as a gay man myself, use the word ---- or gay to joke around with my friends and like some of them use it, but always in a light hearted, joking way and that imo is okay.

Thirdly, I resent the assumption that I am a 'wannabe frat brother.' First of all, I am no longer in University and secondly, I went to quite possibly the most prestigious university in the world and we do not have frats because frankly that is kind of beneath both me and the university. I had better clubs to be part of and schmooze in.

And lastly, you failed to address my argument using your logic. You said that saying never wanting to see Selma is a sign of racism because if you weren't racist you'd only be indifferent. Then wouldn't never wanting to see 12YAS be a sign of being a white supremacist or KKK supporter, using your logic, because if you weren't those you'd only be indifferent? Give me a break, this argument is a joke. Have you ever heard of never wanting to see something because you think it's awards bait or emotionally manipulative or just not how cinema is supposed to be?
