#ED
Surprised at the IMAX record considering it wasn't filmed in IMAX whereas DKR was. My goal for this has been simply to beat the $207m of Avengers. I still think it will. More IMAX theaters since and it appears it only played in IMAX 3D.
Sam
Exhibitor Relations @ERCboxoffice now16 seconds ago AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON debuted with a mighty $27.6M last night--far above the original's $18.7M. I'm so out of depth with BO numbers and predicts lately, but that seems like a good number, no? Pretty healthy increase from TA there. Feel good to say that I contirbuted to that number. Great. #ED
I expected 30M+. What good reason have movies been on a decline when previews start at 7PM now...
stuart360
Only 8 million more than the first film even though this is sequel with more upfront demand AND has 5 hours of more showings than the first film. If this doesn't finish 100mil behind the first film in the US, i'll be shocked.

#ED
It's a good number, don't get me wrong, but WHY NO 30M+ if shows started at 7PM.

K1stpierre
How is 200M locked? This will be more frontloaded than the first one. I agree, I wouldn't say it's "locked" either. All this number tells us is that more people rushed early to see it. There could be less walk-ins now. We'll know more from tonight's number.
