Wednesday photo finish: Fury Road 3.9M, PP2 3.8M, AoU 2.3M (rth)

That's a close one all right. Hope Mad Max can stay ahead when the actuals hit.

Remember, Mad Max will lose some premium format screens Thurday night, so PP2 will probably win Thursday.

It looks like this is going to be a healthy summer at the box office.  This weekend should be pretty big.

Not that big. There have been a lot of Memorial Day weekends with cumalative grosses over 200M. Don't think we are going to get that unless both Tomorrowland and Poltergeist open huge.

Between the top 5 films, it will be over 200 mill for the 4 day, so that's a busy weekend.

I'd say for the 4 day weekend:

1. Tomorrowland ($39 million)

2. Pitch Perfect 2 ($35 million)

3. Mad Max: Fury Road ($29 million)

4. Avengers: Age of Ultron ($28 million)

5. Poltergeist ($27 million)

Why the fuck would FR do only $1m more than AoU? That makes no sense.

I don't see Fury Road falling much harder than 25% for the 4-Day

Meanwhile in China...

Thursday est.
Age of Ultron: 27.5M/$4.4M, 1125M/$181.5M.

It's collapsing.

AOU WOM from GA is really mixed if not bad.

On Wanda App, only 70% audience who bought tickets liked it ,even Chappie had 92% liked - rating.

Looks like a 230M finish in China since it starts losing screens heavily post this weekend.

1B OS is in serious jeopardy since China and SK are basically done contributing heavily. Needs really good holds across Latin America.
