No he's not. Isn't he like 36?

He "feels" young. Ford was going into his forties when he did Raiders, he really looked and oozed the experience of a 40 years old man. That's the Indiana Jones appeal, he was charming but a rugged man like those old school serial heroes, not dorky, not a doofus, not a goofball from an eighties comedy. We meet him in one of his many adventures in media res and judging by his looks/demeanor we understand it's far from his first and that he is kind of a legendary badass. Do you seriously picture Pratt as an archeology scholar teaching at college in the 40's? Ford pulled off the two sides of the character, he was old enough to exude the authority and gravitas to be a respected scholar in his field and the daredevil treasure chaser fighting nazis goons all over the world like a kid on a treasure hunt.

I'm afraid Pratt would lean too much on the "charming goofball badass that can't keep up a straight serious face without cracking a joke, doing something goofy and wink at the audience" side like GOTG.

Maybe Spielberg and Pratt could be creative enough to crate an original character who can be a "charming goofball badass" without having to reboot Indy.

No? Okay.

Stop being salty, you have your wish the rest of us were robbed of our ability to have fun

Go have fun in the proper threads.

Threads have topics and titles for a reason, and some people actually want to see numbers and weekend discussion when they open the weekend thread.

;)

We had plenty of # discussion but you can only say good/bad. Number so many times before it feels like everyone is saying the same thing

I think it really tells something about how bad he is as an actor that he almost always only plays "charming goofball".

Actually I think that if someone can imitate actor for comedic purposes that means that he/she really isn't a great actor. Because of that Al Pacino or Jack Nicholson aren't really as great as people think because they are so easily imitated by comedians. That just shows that they always plays same character.

Have you ever seen anyone imitate Daniel Day-Lewis or Gary Oldman? Of course not because they are so versatile actors that don't have same manners in every role. And that's what makes a really great actor.

Update, 1:22PM: Industry box office estimates see Disney’s MarvelAvengers: Age of Ultron on track for a $87M opening Friday at the domestic B.O., inclusive of yesterday’s $27.6M receipts. That would make Ultron the second highest opening day of all-time behind Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II which made $91.07M on its first Friday (on its way to a $169.2M weekend). An $87M first Friday for Ultron also pegs it ahead of first installment Avengers which made $80.8M. The industry estimate for Ultron opening weekend is currently $213M. Again, these figures become harder as cash drawers close out into the evening.

Variety

The first-day numbers for “Age of Ultron” look to come in between $89 million and $98 million — which could break the $91 million opening day record set in July 2011, by Warner Bros.’ “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.”

Based on these early reports, suggesting an opening day of $90 million or more (which could be a record if it tops the final Harry Potter's $91 million first day), BoxOffice is currently projecting an opening weekend around $220-225 million.

Update, 4:50PM: Deadline has received a new updated set of industry estimates showing Disney/Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron clocking toward the highest opening single day of all-time with $94M-$97M, blowing away previous champ 2011’s Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II which made $91.07M. That figure includes the $27.6M from Thursday night shows.
