Jurassic World Weekend Thread | Official Est. 204.6M | 208.8M - Actuals

It's why the attendance argument is moot. Without actual admissions numbers is all conjecture and speculation and of course that leads to flame wars.

I disagree with Ta and tdk you can argue which is bigger but unless actuals go to well over 210 million there is no basis to the arguement for jw setting it. Edited by Lordmandeep

Problem is B, that these newbies and not so newbies don't want to be reasoned with, they just want to panic. I don't understand the fretting about the 70m number. It could be 69.9 and still be at the marl because of rounding and some of yall need to be great full we even have early numbers once upon a time we older folks had to wait.

It's like I always say. What we've got here is... failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach. So you get what we had here last week, which is the way he wants it... well, he gets it. I don't like it any more than you men.

Post-Avatar, yes. People didn't have the stigma against him they have now and there's nothing in this Owen character that stands out that a Hemsworth or a Worthington couldn't have pull off. It's pretty generic lead stuff that Pratt was asked to do while turning down a notch his goofball self.

I certainly see JennaJ's point, and I totally agree that Pratt is appealing and likeable, but the JW role is the kind of bland leading man role that any attractive young actor could've done in his sleep. The film is all about the dinos. Having said that, Pratt is incredibly lucky and fortunate that he was cast in a 2oo million dollar opener!

Everyone is over estimating the effect of the game and Game of Thrones. Yall do realize that Game of Thrones is on HBO and requires a subscription? We aren't talking about American Idol or CSI or Desperate Housewives which in their hey days pulled 40m for their season finales. Combined the viewership of those 2 programs isn't going to equal what the season ender of Housewives pulled 11 years ago - the last time the NBA was running this high.

Perspective folks, perspective.

Plus spillover is going to be huge. The complaints about lines and sellouts on Twitter last night were very similar to TA1. Theaters were caught off guard just as much by this movie as they were with TA1, maybe even moreso. At least a decent chunk of those people will try again today to see it.

RTH is a boxoffice's god but even GOD is wrong...sometimes.

But he's not this time.  He posted the numbers about three hours ago.

So some people are really disappointed it probably won't break the OW record?

You guys need some Baumer box office counseling,

People need the evil marvel Disney heathen beaten by the righteous saviour dinosaur.

Box office is a battle of good and evil don't you know?

Lol
