Oh... Yeah because of the day holiday falls in.

RotF gets it to 32M (it should probably do a little better than that I think but probably not much)

That opened on Thursday.

MM will make 13m+.

TG 8.5.

Seriously doubt it.  MM is not going to do gangbusters tonight with working women being at work.  It'll do better business on Friday for sure.

You have to use either PE or IA.

You can't use different years though.  You have to take a sample from 2009.

Or 1998. That was the year Armageddon opened to 9.7M on Wednesday, July 1, and made it to 54M by the end of the weekend.

Awesome.  I had not idea when the time was before 2009.  Thanks for finding that. :)

But when you aim for the PG-13 rating with the purpose of bringing in a new younger generation of fans only to fail at bringing them in at acceptable levels, you've got problems.

On top of that, the older crowd is more likely to be weary of being burned by subpar installments to one of their favorite franchises growing up.

The older crowd will still show up this weekend with Arnold back, how many of them well that's to be seen. My point is there was increases on the weekends for the previous two Terminator movies. So I still expect Friday to be the biggest day, while Sunday still has a good chance to mirror todays total number(with previews). That said if it only does 12 million on Friday and 10 million on Sunday. Well it won't be enough....

That was posted at 715EST.  That's way too early for a realistic estimate imo.

Here's the link btw.

Yeah that's why I'm hoping Terminator Genisys still has a 1-2 million increase from those numbers. Hopefully business picks up after people get out of work. Especially with some people potentially having tomorrow off work.

http://variety.com/2015/data/box-office/digital-tracking-terminator-mike-1201532942/

Digital Tracking has Terminator Genisys at 51 million in five days  and Magic Mike at 42 million in five days.

“Terminator: Genisys” actually compares favorably to critical darling “Mad Max: Fury Road” on video views, with an advantage of about 50 million views between YouTube and Facebook. Coupled with an almost identical search volume, “Terminator: Genisys” looks set to top the $45 million “Mad Max” pulled over its three-day opening weekend. Arnie has a couple of extra days in his favor, too, which should see him able to blast his way past $50 million for the five days

and

On Twitter, “Magic Mike XXL” is ahead of “Gone Girl,” which opened to $37.5 million with 150,000 tweets and “No Good Deed,” which opened to $24.3 million with 100,000 tweets, suggesting it will play well with both younger and older female audiences. This sexy sequel looks set to top $40 million for the five-day weekend, potentially going as high as $46 million.

Terminator Genisys would need to make 55 million in 5 days to match Fury Road total. While the first Magic Mike was at 49 million after 5 days.

As we all know Twitter is the box office oracle. It points with unprecedented accuracy towards what films will make without question
