The first TRANSFORMERS is Bay's best. The last two were just 🤮🤮🤮.

a few new critic reactions are on twitter, I would post them but a spam account is posting fake links to download the movie and I don't feel like swimming through them, so TLDR most were positive 2 were negative and 1 was mixed. RT probably around 65%-75% RT IMO based on the reactions

also, Pete Davidson as Mirage is the stand-out character of the film

I saw the teaser in 3D multiple times during my Avatar' showtimes few months ago. At least from the footage, 3D effect looked awesome to the point that I may opt 3D for this.

I think the budget was said to be around $200m, so feels like $500m would probably be the point it needs to hit to not bury the franchise.

The reason this is looking to flop is because there is no real selling point to it. Nobody cares about the lore of Transformers. They saw those original movies because of the crazy action and FX. Hell if the original movie came out now it wouldn’t do as well as it did because it just wouldn’t stand out anymore

I have the same feeling. If this is a brand like MCU, it would be fine to be average. Right now it’s more like a D&D thing.

I still love the first Transformers. The late 2000s were also the greatest time for CGI. They are perfect and so well done and harmonize with the whole material. Well, that was when films were shot on film.
