Thoughts:

 

Once again, Ruffalo and Keaton have split votes while Christian Bale, Michael Shannon, and Idris Elba appeared again. This is the strangest category this year.

The Hateful Eight got nominated for Screenplay and Supporting Actress but nowhere else. The Globes typically love Tarantino so this is interesting.

Helen Mirren is definitely getting nominated for Supporting Actress now.

Hard to say if The Martian or The Big Short wins Comedy. One has a Director advantage while the other has a Screenplay advantage.

actually I feel like the globes in general have spent the last couple years moving towards something a little more 'respectable'. After Depp used to get nominated for just having his picture in the daily mail or whatever it's nice that they ignored such lazy bait, even if the substitute seemed to be Telldy Troof.

shannon's great as always but it would be nice to see garfield get a mention or two some places in lead. it's career best work from him and a reminder of how much I like him after those spider-men shat on my goodwill.

Concussion's reviews are actually quite decent overall, so it's not like it's The Tourist (seriously, they will never live down that embarrassment).
