I couldn't get exact numbers for BvS (I forgot when I left) but it did about 160 admissions for the 3 6pm showings, and for the 4 9-10pm showtimes it was somewhere between 275 and 325. So a little less than 500 for all 2D and 3D showings. For comparison, AoU did 693 admissions for my theater on Thursday night - that's 3D, 2D, and double feature (only 18 admissions).

Furious 7 did 373 total for Thursday previews.

I don't have the data for MoS.

Thanks for the info.

Yes. A slower theater though. The big theater (Irvine Spectrum) is likely where a lot of business went as they have larger theaters, screens, and true IMAX. I don't know how that theater did but my manager called another big local theater around 630 or so and they said it was surprisingly slow. If it was at all similar to mine than it picked up a little later in the night. But early on (around 6) seemed all around 'slow'.

So I just called up three friends asking if they wanted to see BvS and they all responded with "I heard that movie was terrible/shit." I coaxed them into coming saying we will hit the pub first and get a bit tipsy before seeing it. Been out a single day and already WOM is bad.

Just got home. Will post reactions in spoiler thread, but in terms of my theatre's attendance, it was decently busy. I never got to look at our computers, but my 9:30 screening was quite packed. Would estimate 17-19M for our theatre tonight, but also gotta take into account how beautiful the weather is, so tonight could be potentially muted in grosses.

Based on the early numbers I've seen, I'd estimate the Thursday night take for BvS to be in the high $20s to low $30s.   My instinct tells me it will be around $31 million, which is only slightly above where Dark Knight Rises finished playing only at midnight and with no 3D shows.

Wow, that was such an incredible number for TDKR.

ULTRON had very high showtimes compared to the rest, but I am guessing that was due to expectations as a sequel to a 200m+ opener?

You should add that unlike with BvS, you lost track of Ultron final numbers so we don't even have clue if the sellouts/showtimes ratio weren't bigger. ;)
