Why? Marvel has too many movies about heroes and zero about villains. It'd be a breath of fresh air to make a villain-themed movie for once (which is why Suicide Squad is my #1 most anticipated movie of the summer).

Marvel doesn't really have a Suicide Squad type team comic wise, the Sinister Six are more like Flash's Rogues rather the Suicide Squad.

 

With SS and Wonder Woman, WB and DC are at an advantage of doing something that Marvel Studios haven't done yet which is a villain movie and a female solo superhero film.

Not sure this can be considered a huge success. I am sure they were hoping to build a worldwide fan-base for their future installments more than anything and making less than 900m WW with extremely mixed response simply does not make the pass. Marvel started smaller but always had an upwards trajectory but you can't rule out the fact this could be DC's peak.

Exactly. DCU started off strongly box office wise with mediocre movies. They will gain dominance once they produce quality films. SS can easily do GotG numbers and JLA will possibly improve over BvS hitting 1 billion. Also have a juggernaut on the horizon with a solo Batman film. Marvel really need Spidey to return to form in order to compete with DCU after the Infinity War double.

I think Wonder Woman has potential to break out but WB needs to move it which I'm sure they will. SS definetly has buzz behind it, the trailers were doing better in online views than BvS and that was before WB has kicked off the marketing.
