Fullbuster
Funny : in Brazil BATB will crush DH2 in local currency but because of terrible ER it will be very close in USD.

But even if it fails and it "only" makes over 1.2b, with 2011 ER we would be talking about over 1.4b and making just $100m in China. It is a monster. Undoubtedly its a monster. What I meant it that going from 1b to 1.3b is far more difficult than going from 500m to 800m. In thr first case a bignproportion of the demand foe a movie has burnt out. You will see a number of 1b grossers every year but most of them stop behind 1.1b let alone 1.2,b

Among the recent +1.3b, all of them have needed to make enormous figures in 1 or more OS country to reach it (beyond a stellar DOM performance). Both JW and Ultron did well over $200m in China. F7 did nearly $400m. We already know what Frozen did in Japan. And Star Wars had 3 (nearly 4) OS markets over $100m. The real hope for BatB is Japan. And the style of the film really fits with their tastes. I am not saying it will make $200m, but it could surprise.

Apparently, crossing 1.2b is quite difficult and quite a few movies pegged to do it (CW, RO, some Transformers) couldn't.

Transformers didn't do so with much better XR (Of course it had much less from NA, too, but BatB should do more OS excluding China... Quigley
ERs have completely changed the landscape. All of last year's films would have crossed $1.2B with the ERs of 2011 or 2012.

It also depends the box office performance in Japan, so yeah it's too early to tell. For those specific countries, might be easier to just dig up local currency gross and use that as a comparison. But here's a table with the original, exchange-rate adjusted, and ticket price (incl. exchange rate) adjusted OS grosses for DH2 on a regional and country-by-country basis. Exchange rate adjustment is current as of March 22. Regional ticket-price adjusted grosses are estimated due to missing data for some countries. fabiopazzo2
$690-710M at the end of the weekend?
Agafin
So it looks like it's going to be a three way battle between China, The UK and Japan for the biggest OS market (all are currently predicted or projected to make about $90m). Should be interesting.

The movie is obviously going to be huge in France, but relatively speaking, it won't match the heights of BatB in those 3 markets. $40m-$50m is what most would expect as a good/great gross for BatB in France.

Surprisingly, France was not specially big for the animated film. If I remember well it sold something like 4.5 million admissions. Respectable figure but nothing impressive (it sold more admissions in Spain, for example)
