Yep, massively underestimated in UK. £18.4m v £19.7m ($24.5m) actual.

It's so fucking annoying how awful the ER is. This could have made $125m+ in the UK.

Shit this is huge.Watson is a real force in the UK.She and Craig are the only 2 actors that have a film in the Top 5 but Craig's films are from the same franchise while Watson's are 2 different films.

So are we looking atan $80M run?

At a minimum. Could get into the high 80s or even 90s. Have to see.

OS actuals - 182.3M

The biggest offshore shift came in the UK, where the movie clocked a final $24.3M frame, up from the already record-breaking Sunday projection of $22.8M. China remains the top market at an unchanged $44.8M, with Korea falling in line behind the UK at $11.8M (a slight dip from yesterday’s $11.9M estimate); Mexico at $11.8M (up from $11.6M) and Brazil at $11M (over the $10.4M reported Sunday).

Meanwhile in US, as per Exhibitor Relations:

Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST is officially the #6 best opening of all time: $174,750,616. Later, IRON MAN 3.

DISNEY now has 6 of the 7 highest openings.

Justice League is probably the only one able to compete with Disney movies this year in terms of OW.

In Greece, film not so amazing as rest of world but still very good. 57.9K-admission opening is the second best for live action Disney fairytale, behind Alice in Wonderland (83.2K admissions) and way ahead of Maleficent, Cinderella and Jungle Book. Second best opening of the year, behind 'Fifty Shades Darker' (88.4K admissions).

Quote

The new Beauty and the Beast will definitely be a blockbuster. I believe it has ¥10 billion (~$90 million) potential, and could be the #1 film of 2017. It has one of the best release dates any film can have, one week before the Golden Week holiday period, which will propel it even higher. Also, releasing well after the news of its incredible opening weekend in the U.S., and hopefully running total there and worldwide, will only generate more buzz prior to its release, too.

It should be the first Disney live-action remake/re-imagining that could challenge Alice in Wonderland in the market in terms of admissions and JPY, but the exchange rate won't allow it to come near Alice in USD.

Japan could be the highest OS market for BATB. Corpse thinks it has a shot at $100 million.
