There's been some criticism that they lightened Tiana's skin in this (and it is kinda noticeable). Anika Noni Rose responded.

I don't see the "case" in here. I see the Ralph 2's Tiana "black enough" to notice that she is black and Moana is "less black" and the are the others which are "whites". I have the feeling some internet troll are just trying to create  (trendy) hard issues where there are none.

Rendering is not the same as hand-drawing. With rendering you get more lights and shadows and sometime skin can look lighter or darker. Hand-drawing makes the skin tone looks more uniform. That's it.

Some people should chill. The level of conspiracy and paranoia are getting too high lately.

Yep, the internet troll.....the woman who voiced her....totally. I know film fans don't care who gets stepped on re: representation but c'mon.

It's the modifications to her face structure that were kind of jarring, but they fixed it. No problem.

The controversy about Tiana was there much before the interview with the actress that voices her in the movie. She might just have joined the trend.

The skin tone difference isn’t that noticeable to me, but they definitely did get rid of her original nose completely in favor of a much more Caucasian looking nose, which is too bad.

None of the princesses look quite like their 2D traditional animated selves. Pocahontas is the worst.

The merch is already out...there's a ton of bedstuff I came across at Target.

I'm mad none of it is queen-sized. I have queen sized Pokemon sheets under my Star Wars blanket, for christ's sake, I want a queen sized Vanellope Emoji blanket!

Is it bad to say this is looking worse and worse with each new trailer?

Yes, it is bad to say.

This movie looks fantastic! WDAS didn't disappoint me in the last 10 years and it's clearly not gonna start with THIS movie. :)

In a recent interview with IGN, the film’s director, Rich Moore, said that one character in particular was marked as off-limits for their desired mockery: Kylo Ren, the fearsome and complicated villain of the new Star Wars movies.

“At one point we had a joke about Kylo Ren being kind of a spoiled child,” Moore said. “We went to Lucasfilm and said, here’s what we’re doing. And they said, well, we’d prefer that you don’t show him as a spoiled child. You know, he is our villain, and we’d prefer you don’t do that. So we were respectful of that.”

They should have pitched a Ben Swolo joke instead. I mean, this movie does take place on the Internet.

   Maybe Lucas film shouldn't have portrayed him as a spoiled child if they didn't want others to see him that way.
