But, Paramount has more tie-in/merchandise potential because Fox does not have merchandise. Also, X-Men did weaker in the domestic market where theaters give a bigger cut and ancillary revenues are stronger. Fox also has to be cautious about using Deadpool carefully. They need Deadpool sequels and X-Force most. Using Deadpool in his solo movies, X-Force, and X-Men might diminish his impact and that is not something Fox would want. Finally, subjective feelings towards Star Trek are better.

I like both for veryyyyy different reasons. One because he is actually a great director and the other because he makes absurd hilarious shit and is the king of d-porn.

D-porn sounds like just normal porn to me.

Jason Bourne was good. Fits in on the lower side of the Damon Bourne sliding scale but if it's the weakest it's not by much.

But the line was not in the movie @MrPink. We were betrayed.

I just canceled my tickets.

Pretty glad to be wrong about Bourne; making a lot more than I expected. Saw it tonight and was pleasantly surprised but how good it was. It, Ghostbusters, and Star Trek Beyond are all on the same level of "really good blockbuster, alright movie overall" for me.

Theater was packed too; my only sold-out (barring like ten seats) showing of the summer

Not true. Paramount carries the film license, CBS has everything else.

Oh and FWIW, my mom (the target audience for Bourne IMO, since the franchise has always skewed older) loved the movie more than Beyond and thought it was excellent in general so I feel like we'll get better holds than expected after next weekend (because Suicide Squad is definitely gonna hurt it anyway)

You should still see it for the obligatory "Jason Bourne beats someone up with a household item" and the obligatory "Jason Bourne makes a confident, 'intelligent' character who thinks they got Bourne all in the plan look like a total chump" scenes.

Really good OD for Bourne. It was totally set up to be a 200+ hit, but then they had to go and make a lackluster movie on us. That's pretty horrid for Star Trek, unless it has a miraculously great Sat bump. Pets starting to show some killer legs, maybe looking at a 30% drop for the weekend. Would be crazy if it hit 400, but Pete and Kubo will probably kabosh any chance for that.
