GA reaction will be key to avoid the bomb territory. If it's as crowdpleasing as it appears to be, then legs through November should be quite solid

I think the film is audience-friendly; at least, much more audience-friendly than Blade Runner 2

Sadly, many people will only wait for streaming.

If OW is over 30M and WOM spreads, it can find a way to 100M DOM. Competition isn't crazy this November.

Reviews seem to be holding up pretty well, now at 69% on RT 143 reviews counted. That will help, it's tough out there for anything that isn't a superhero movie or Disney remake, can't afford to be trash and still cash in a billion.

$100 million is not a good gross, but at least it can save face.

I hope that the film does well but how does 100mil save face? They are trying to start a new franchise. 100mil in North America doesn't mean anything unless it does 400-500+mil internationally.

The TOP 20 Worldwide for 2019 - Terminator Dark Fate at minimum needs to hit the #11 spot or better to minimize the financial damage. With a production budget of $185 million and probably another $100 million for promo/marketing, it's a big hill to climb here very similar to Alita which is now parked indefinitely.

I think it is pretty safe to say that this movie is gonna be a bomb. A big one or a small one? Yet to know.

But James Cameron is already throwing Tim Miller under the bus.

@IronJimbo  How can you worship a man like that like a God?  Jimmy is so full of himself and jumps the ship at the first signs of troubles.

I interpret that article differently, by the sounds of it Cameron was heavily involved in the final cut of the film and will bear a substantial amount of responsibility, what % of disagreements went in Miller or Cameron's favour only they can tell for sure. JC lost the right to throw Miller under the bus as you say when he got involved in the final edit.

Whether people actually go out and see it that's another story. Success or failure is in the hands of moviegoers.

Yeah, Reagan is not President any more.

I think that America is pretty war weary after 18 years of military conflict, and just are not in the mood for a rah rah contemporary war movie.

Movies are OK.

It's the real wars that America keeps starting all over the world that are the problem. Good thing you finally have a real president who reined in the war-mongers a bit.

100 Mill domestic will not be enough to save it with a 180 Million budget and a 360 Million break even point, and it not doing well overseas.

It's almost certainly going to lose money, only question is how much.

Particualry since the film has around a 350 Million plus break even point and is not doing well so far overseas.

Too many here just see "Wow ! A Hundred Million Dollars" without taking anything else into context.
