trifle
I saw others I didn't like, and maybe I'll see more by the 9th, but that wasn't a big year for me: 1. Harry Potter and the OOTP 2. Bourne Ultimatum 3. The Assassination of Jesse James 4. Ratatouille 5. There Will Be Blood 6. Hot Fuzz 7. Across the Universe 8. Pirates at World's End 9. Shrek 3 I missed some others are talking about that I might not have been interested in at the time, and I will try to catch some of them.

Tower
I have been catching up with some 2007 films for this list, but I have to say I'm a little disappointed. I've seen Zodiac, Into The Wild and No Country For Old Men, and while none of these are bad, I didn't find them all that great either considering these are some of the most highly rated films of the year. No Country For Old Men was the best of those but even that one wouldn't have made my top 10 for 2016.

I haven't seen Into The Wild but I'd put NCFOM and Zodiac easily above any of the Best Picture nominees this year.

filmlover
Just watch the Disney maniacs vote Meet the Robinsons all the way to the top. Or not. It's a shame that's become one of their forgotten efforts since it was really the movie that began their upswing after a few quiet years where DreamWorks and Pixar stole their thunder.

Goffe
Last 4 films I saw for this list Red Road: basically, two hours of stalking, endless stalking. It doesn't help we don't get to know why a completely normal person is stalking an ex-con until the last 15 minutes. Ending is rewarding, but I wish it didn't take us so long to get there. 5/10 The Lookout: the most basic and boring film they could have done with the concept. 4/10 Sunshine: Could have been good hadn't it evolved into a yawn worth thriller in its second half. The notion that an over-the-top religious nut would have been selected for such important mission makes lol. 6/10 Bug: WHAT. THE. ACTUAL. FUCK. Terrible. 3/10 Edited February 23, 2017 by Goffe
