Boss Baby is definitely doing somewhere in the 30s, with a shot in the 40s. Weirdly enough, the Dreamworks movies that look like a chore to watch have overperformed compared to expectations lately, but I don't see it being as huge as something like Home or Trolls, with the Beast still being a monster.

Shell always felt like a mid-20s opener. Speaking as someone with no understanding of the original movie or the manga, I don't have a clue what the movie's about, why the setting's all weird and future-y, and why Scarlett Johannson has that weird bodysuit. Add on to anime being a pretty niche market to begin with, and it just feels like it won't do any good next weekend.

Yeah, I mean PR will have the 270th best domestic opening ever. Only 269 films have made more than it and will head for a groundbreaking $110M domestic gross. But seriously good OW, however depending on legs, Lionsgate should be cautious about the sequel, I don't think anyone here wanted PR to bomb though.

Just for curiosity, I checked IMDb and Power Rangers has France, Italy, Spain and Japan left from the big markets. Life has France, Brazil and Japan.

Both also have China but I am not sure if these movies will open there, so the OS OW of each will gives us a good idea where they will end up.

The one thing I will say about Reynolds is the guy isn't afraid to take on different roles. Clearly his biggest talent is his comedic timing but I've seen the guy in everything from comedies to action movies to dramas....and he's been pretty good across the board. Unfortunately his box office clout is zero (then again I don't think many stars have box office clout anymore) and his projects don't do to well box office wise. And unfortunately that's how some folks base how good a film is now a days.

Nobody on this board was a hater against PR. Making fun of something doesnt equal hating. And rooting against something also doesnt necessarily indicate hating. If it would, you are a hater of Kong and Beauty and the Beast. Are you?

Hey I mean while I saw PR and liked it yesterday, I'd be cautious about a sequel, if I were Lionsgate and by cautious I don't mean can it but see how PR1 performs first. That being said a $41M+/$115M+/$250M-$350M run for PR is good.

PR and Life both need to make like $100M OS in order to be successful box office wise.

I dont think thats happening for either one of them.

I think 250M WW gets Power Rangers a sequel.
