That's really impressive. My AMC's Thursday was just below this percentage as of this morning, and yours is already there through the weekend!

I said source bro. This is some journalist doing sugarcoating.

The Hollywood Reporter is as legitimate as sources get. It's not like Paramount was going to announce how much of the gross was inflated.

If you're insinuating that we should trust your thoughts over The Hollywood Reporters....seems dumb.

I feel similar. A huge 20 movie span with a story arc culminating into this event. I dont know if or when we will see similar again. It feels like theres some film history happening. Marvel films will go on but im not sure there will be of this massive scope ( in terms of sheer amount of movies part of an arc)

Have there been any updated predictions of how much money these massive presales will convert to?

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is - by far- the most impressive thing in cinematic history from a business perspective. History, odds, and logic say they should have fucked up or saturated their brand to the point of obvious dilution years ago. Yet it continues to grow and grow.

To me, what Marvel has accomplished decisively trumps Star Wars from a business perspective. That their 19th (?) film in 11 years will be the biggest yet is just bonkers and defies all logic.

Pikachu tickets just went on sale at my local theatre either yesterday or today. Preview night has sold almost 40 tickets already. Pretty decent tbh for this far out. No 4pm previews for Pikachu at my theatre.

Shoot I'm the one pushing this movie and I took a second to realize what he was saying. Can we just call it Pika Pika from now on to not confuse it with Deadpool?

100% agreed. Or even Pika if one wants to type quickly. I know that I usually have to do a translate in my head "Oh, yeah, Pikachu, not Deadpool" whenever I see DP in these threads recently.

I just think DP/DP2 is just too entrenched as Deadpool/Deadpool 2 for Detective Pikachu to be shortened as "DP".

(this is part of the problem in insisting on shortening all movies to initials when talking about them, but that's a separate discussion that's very off topic for this thread)

I just edited my post, I’m going with Pikachu.

At end of Thursday, A:EG pre-sales were estimated at $100mn Approx. I am again rounding down it to $95mn.

Since then, the last two days, it has added about $6mn per day (MT suggest $8-9mn per day while Fandango suggest much higher).

That said.

Top pre-sales in North America

1Avengers: Endgame

2. Star Wars: The Force Awakens

3. Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Seeing that is surreal...thought Force Awakens wouldn’t be topped for a decade.

9:00PM - 182/234 seats sold (78%)

Recently added showings (all the Regular 3D and Regular shows, minus the 8:00 3D and 9:00 non-3D) are selling steadily but not doing gangbusters. I get the feeling a lot of people who didn't purchase tickets during the initial launch at the beginning of the month haven't bothered checking for new showtimes, at least not yet. The later Regular 3D showings are selling at a crawl. Most people will avoid 3D whenever they can. It doesn't matter, though, because sales the week of + walkups will fill those seats anyway.
