@Inceptionzq Your comps for Friday and Saturday (vs Thursday) at both chains are highly encouraging that this won't be as frontloaded as some on here are predicting. At least not OW.

I wouldn’t compare FSS vs Thursday. My final FSS numbers are in the morning or late the night before, and my final Thursday numbers are as previews are starting. So I miss a lot of walkups especially on FSS.

It’s not really a problem for movies that have similar percentages of presales vs total sold, but it’s a problem here. NWH is already gonna be more presale loaded than any other movie on every day, of course, but it will be extra presale loaded vs these other movies on FSS. So even though the Friday final comps are higher than the Thursday final comps, it really just shows how much more presale loaded NWH is.

Do you still think No Way Home will open with $200M?

Sunday acceleration happening with this fun being fairly early is encouraging. Tomorrow should be a sizable pace jump.

Spider-Man: No Way Home Current Number, 24 Screen Theater, 7PM - December 9, 2021

50 show times, 2495 tickets sold
4 private screenings sold (160 tickets equivalent)

Comparisons to Final Ticket Sales Tracked

Endgame — 50 show times, 3623 tickets sold

Captain Marvel -- 30 show times, 1140 tickets sold
Infinity War -- 37 show times, 2449 tickets sold

The Rise or Skywalker — 44 show times, 1826 tickets sold

Comps to Final Previews
EG = $41.32M or $43.97M with private screenings
CM = $45.30M or $48.21M with private screenings
IW = $39.73M or $42.28M with private screenings
TROS = $54.65M or $58.16M with private screenings

Notes: Show times are up to 50 + 5 private screenings (4 have sold, 1 more is available), so it's already matched Endgame for total shows even without the private screenings. I'm not sure if they'll add any more times. It's also now crossed Infinity War as of my final track (outright, even without private screenings).

I mean more like something that had huge presales but didn't really show in the opening weekend, or something where a big chunk of the opening came from presales.

That's what they were answering.

Edit: I was mistaken.

Nope. TFA and TLJ were probably slightly more, TROS much more.

Ahh yea I thought you were just asking which movie had the most presales.

But yea as a presale ratio to OW, it's TROS.

What was the ratio and why was it so presale heavy compared to the other Star Wars films?

Oh, Solo and TROS I'd guess. Those were insanely frontloaded.
