Y8

Spoiler

Framework is still on track for June 21st, Y8, however the studio is considering moving the film to July 19th, Y8 due to Should You Imagine?’s strong July performance and in order to further distance itself from rival studios, Shining Star Animation’s Dog Man and one of the biggest films of Y8: Hourglass Pictures’ BH3: Marion, Cassie and The Great Supernova of Y8.

Who doesn’t love the summer camp? The great outdoors, summer love, a detention center, mysteries, monsters, plots that could shake up the world and ooh a high stakes canoe race. Naughty is up next for the trifecta of Endless Animation films in Y8, that aims to deliver a fun thrilling ride with heart, humor and scares.

In Pleasantville, USA, 11 year old Xavier Bitton (Keith L Williams (Good Boys, The Last Man on Earth)) is a model student, with many plans for all the potential careers he would want to pursue. However, after an incident at his fifth grade graduation, Xavier has an early life crisis: he has trouble making friends and wants to explore. With encouragement from his parents (Taraji P Henson (Empire, Ralph Breaks The Internet) and Sterling K. Brown (Green Lantern Corps: Home, The Angry Birds Movie 2)), Xavier decides to go to summer camp, to find himself and meet new people.

However, due to an unfortunate mixup and an ill-timed bathroom break, Xavier takes the wrong bus and is instead whisked away and taken to Waylon’s Preparatory Camp for Wayward Children, a half juvenile hall/half summer camp for some of the naughtiest, cruelest and coolest kids to be reformed, run by a manic and cold headmaster, Headmaster Waylon (Kelsey Grammar (Toy Story 2, Cheers). Xavier soon forms an unlikely alliance with a teenage delinquent Roxy, who has a history with the camp (Ella Jay Basco (Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey), who helps him survive and adapt the camp to fit in with the cool crowd and to a lesser extent life, as they form the ultimate score: a breakout heist out of camp, which soon becomes more perilous as dark secrets are uncovered as well as the more darker and monstrous creatures.

Other cast members include

- Alison Janney (Over The Hedge, Bad Education) as Miss Cipiline, Waylon’s second in command who either dons a creepy smile or a pissed off scowl, as she disciplines and educates the children while sewing with some of Waylon’s dirtier tasks.

- Tom Hiddleston (Crimson Peak, Thor: Ragnarok) as The Narrator, a mysterious being who narrates the events happening in the story

- Peyton Wich (Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween, The Darkest Minds) as Sydney “Snake” Francis, a bulky yet chubby 14 year old bully on the island, who is considering the toughest and meanest of them, who ends up joining Xavier and Roxy’s escape plan.

- Ruby Rose Turner (Coop and Cami Ask The World, Fuller House) as Jessi Jennings, a bratty 12 year old girl who is heir to the Jennings fortune, who uses her money and fashion to rule/bully over the other girls at camp who also joins Xavier and Roxy’s crew.

- Sadie Sink (Stranger Things, The Americans) as The Mole, a 13 year old smuggler who was a partner of Roxy but has made a name for herself selling contraband goods.

- J.K. Simmons (Spider-Man: Far From Home, Kung Fu Panda 3) as REDACTED

Thurop Van Orman (The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack, The Angry Birds Movie 2) will direct the project with a script he co-wrote with Alex Hirsch (Starlight, Gravity Falls) as Tim Burton (Beetlejuice, The Nightmare Before Christmas) executive produces. Walden Media and Laika will help co-finance the project, as Naughty is said to be a mix of traditionally animation but more akin to European animation, with its use of watercolor and will also be combined with Laika’s signature stop motion which Endless Animation has developed a new software called Forrestt.

Naughty arrives in theaters September 20th, Y8

In the holidays, Squirrel Girl and friends return for another fun filled adventure, but this time and for both story reasons and box office reasons, a musical. The final title to the sequel is Squirrel Girl, Dana and The Right Note.

“Taking place about a year after the events of the first, our heroes, bounty hunters, and an oversized head has their happy ending. Squirrel Girl (Academy Award winner Anna Kendrick) has become a world famous superheroine as she soon finds herself receiving a proposal from her boyfriend Speedball (Daniel Henney) to move in together but seemingly feels empty, bounty hunters Bullseye (David Tennant) and Illouise (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) have become famous exhibitionists at Las Vegas as they start to miss the allure of crime, and squirrel sidekicks Tippy Toe (Samantha Ireland) and Monkey Joe (Lil Rel Howery) are living life. Everyone but Squirrel Girl’s somewhat reluctant, sarcastic yet lonely best friend Dana (Taissa Farmiga) who now has gained otherworldly superpowers and doesn’t want to be a heroine as she struggles to find her own happiness in her musical pursuits

It soon turns out Dana’s powers are otherworldy as she, Squirrel Girl, Tippy Toe, Monkey Joe, Bullseye and Illouise are transported to a musical themed realm as Dana is offered a spot on to become a member of god like beings called Songsmiths, all with musical talent, led by Queen Harmony (Renee Elise Goldberg) and her brother Prince Peacenickel (The Weeknd). However, Dana is pursued and haunted by The Dealmaker (Michael C Hall (Dexter, Six Feet Under), an all-powerful demon with a voice as smooth as honey and manipulations skills that can corrupt the purest of hearts, who wants to bargain for her powers with a nefarious plot involves the realm of Harmony that can endanger the world. As friendships face trials and the worlds go to heck, will our heroes, squirrels and morally questionable exhibitionists find the right note?”

All the old cast members will return (barring the late Stan Lee) as more cast will be shared at a later date but some cast members have been revealed:

- Tim McGraw as The Outlaw, a master of country music with a rough and tumble cowboy get up and Harmony’s head of security

- Jason Derulo (Cats) as Swagga, a bombastic and boisterous rap god with a grudge and army against Harmony.

- Neil Patrick Harris as Mr. and Grey Delise as Mrs., Swagga’s two lead henchman and a married couple known for creating love songs that literally messes with the emotions of others.

Marvel Entertainment will co-finance the project as Lauren Faust (Medusa) will direct the project and co-write the project with Endless Animation CEO Meg LeFauve (The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl), Amanda Rydna (DC Super Hero Girls (2019)), and Seth Grahame-Smith (The Lego Batman Movie). Faust says while Nefcy won’t return except as an executive producer, Squirrel Girl 2 will maintain its big heart, witty and madcap humor and gorgeously animated action sequences all while having some excellent showstoppers written by Kristen Anderson Lopez and Robert Lopez (Frozen, Coco) as The Weeknd will help craft the soundtrack.

Squirrel Girl, Dana and The Right Note will arrive in theaters December 13th, Y8.

Y9

Spoiler

Y9 will also have three films, the first of which like My Peoples, Can You Imagine? and Medusa, will be a revived animation project from the studio. Cosmic 3000 will also incorporate Worldmeander technology giving the film an aesthetic similar to Klaus and Treasure Planet but the characters are entirely traditionally animated while the backgrounds are in stunning computer animation

Cosmic 3000 takes place thiusands of years into the future, tells the story of Cress (Ncuti Gatwa (Sex Education)), a young man with a need for speed and has dreamed of racing in the Celestial Circuit, a universe wide space race across many planets and moons using spaceships where two people pilot the ship, one races, the other uses the defense systems, to represent Earth as well as provide income to provide for his younger siblings.

Crees finally gets his chance and winds up on the Earth team as he is taken in by Earth Racing Leader, Kenneth Strike (Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man, Sherlock Holmes)) and he is forced to partner with Draz (Diego Boneta (Rock of Ages, Before I Fall)), a cocky and arrogant racer who comes from a long line of racers, who unlike Cress was born with a silver spoon in his mouth.

Cress and Draz will have to work together to bring Earth the gold as well as deal with a plot that can endanger the galaxy as the race is seemingly sabotaged and dealing with a group of militaristic aliens who don’t want racers on their turf.

The space race ensemble stars:

Dante Basco (Avatar: The Last Airbender, American Dragon: Jake Long) as Prince Koa, both a talented racer and high command of the Okla empire, it’s not really clear who’s side he’s on.

Kristen Schaal (Bob’s Burgers, The Last Man on Earth) as Kli, Kona’s advisor and racing partner with a passion for one-liners and bloodlust

Mindy Kaling (Inside Out, The Mindy Project) as Finn, a mermaid/siren like humanoid who is also racing in the Celestial Circuit

Will Forte (SCOOB!, The Last Man on Earth) as Hook, Finn’s partner in the Celestial Circuit, who despite his fears is an extremely fast and unpredictable racer.

Haley Tju (Big Hero 6: The Series, Schooled) as Squ, a squid like alien and teenage racing prodigy who’s as brutal on the tracks as courteous she is to others

Michael Jai White (Black Dynamite, Spawn) as Xtra-Fly, a smooth talking and rather handsome humanoid fly.

Dana Carvey (Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Chowder) as Bait, an egotistical tubby humanoid fly who is Xtra-Fly’s partner

Ali Wong (Tuca and Bertie, Always Be My Maybe) as REDACTED

Shahidi Wright Joseph (The Lion King, Us) as Ala, Cress’ snarky yet lovable younger sister

Evan Alex (You and I, Us) as Kip, Cress’ fun loving and energetic younger brother

and

Kevin Michael Richardson as Emperor Krull, leader of the Okla empire, who is leading the attacks on the Celestial racers

Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois (the How To Train Your Dragon trilogy) will write and direct the project. Cosmic 3000 arrives in theaters Q1 Y9

The Mario Brothers return for another adventure, this time among the stars.

Mark Dindal (Super Mario Bros, The Number One Dime) signs on to direct Super Mario Galaxy. Taking place one year after the first Mario film, Mario and Luigi are adjusting well to their newfound wealth but Mario is still unsatisfied with his new life. Life for Peach as ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom is also seemingly missing something as Daisy has become on her own quest in life as a vigilante against the Koopa Empire, The Mario brothers soon return to the Mushroom Kingdom as Bowser has taken over the Mushroom Kingdom and set out into space to create a new galaxy. With help from a benevolent watcher of the Cosmos, Rosalina (Ana De Armas), Mario, Luigi, Peach and Daisy set off on a cosmic quest to stop Bowser.

The cast is composed of:

Oscar Isaac as Mario Mario

Jay Baruchel as Luigi Mario

Idina Menzel as Princess Peach

Liev Schreiber as Koopa King Bowser

Zoe Kravitz as Princess Daisy

Ana de Armas as Rosalina

Michael Jones (Camp Camp) as Kamek

Pierce Gagnon as Koopa Prince Bowser Jr.

Super Mario Galaxy invades theaters Summer Y9.

Described as some sorts, a spiritual successor to Y3’s My Peoples as well as a long struggled passion project of Endless Animation comes The Music In Me. The Music in Me despite being somewhat low scaled in terms of big animation, the story has notable heart and possesses some jaw dropping animation.

The Music in Me takes place in 1980s, where a young girl named Note (Skai Jackson), is an excellent singer with music in her heart, lives a good life with her father and grandmother. goes on a cross country road trip in order to find her estranged mother, dubbed by many the Queen of Funk, guided by the spirit of her great grandma who inhabits a rag doll

Matthew A Cherry (Academy Award winning Hair Love) will direct the film as he will write the script alongside Bruce W Smith (The Proud Family)

The Music in Me arrives in theaters in the Holiday Season of Y9

Information about Will You Imagine and the Y10 projects will be sometime between Sunday and Monday.

Attached to selected showings of Should You Imagine?

Spoiler

Endless Entertainment

Endless Animation

We then center in on a pitch black screen as titles and logos pop up, as a Siri like voice narrates it.

From the team behind Can You Imagine? and Gateways

We get a glimpse at Earth as we hear robotic narration of the history of the planet.

Educator Robot: Earth was made billions of years ago.

We then get a glimpses of a lush prehistoric jungles as we see dinosaurs roaming, fighting and eating and what not. As we see a lone T-Rex let out a deafening roar

Educator Robot: Organic material was the dominant species until the meteor.

We then cut back into space as a blazing asteroid strikes Earth

Educator Robot: Living consuming organisms mostly perished whilst non living matter such as water, plants and the air persisted as the asteroid was full of valuable metals and the source of our birth: Eneron.

We then see a few surviving dinosaurs roam around as they sniff a lake of a grey metallic fluid as we see robot cavemen forming. The mighty T-Rex roars as the robots humorously vaporizes it using eye beams.

Educator Robot: Thankfully we’ve evolved past those days.

We then see cut to a state of the art assembly line as the robots of all shapes, colors and sizes are quickly assembled and activated as the narration continues installing and naming out the basic rules of the society (logic over all, as well as the jobs assigned to each one. We then see a bunch of humanoid robots, as the voice explains that they’re part of the science division, as they’ll help advance their society further as they are being activated, one by one, as two giant clamps hold them and cocooned them as the machines spark up, releasing them as their monitor-like faces turn on. The last one, a sleek cobalt and grey humanoid robot (Charlie Heaton), is being made.

Educator Robot: “Your task is to help our society with the Eneron crisis, the best you can. Don’t let us down.” as the robot eyes light.

Said robot is sent down a chute, which turns into a vast series of chutes, as it transports various robots across Coil City, a sprawling hi-tech futuristic Metropolis, as said robot looks on with awe, as we see from his POV as buildings are made out of thin air, robots conversing with one another about the sports game they saw last night debating on illegal hardware.

Next Summer

We then see the robot before Code (Charlie Heaton) and his assistant Tess (Lily James) working in a discrete laboratory.

Code: Tess, we’re about to make history with artificial intelligence. Imagine it, the Eneron crisis solved, us as legends and society greatly benefits.

Tess: I trust your assessment is logical but aren’t we potentially causing greater and more dangerous consequences.

Code ponders it as he shrugs it off, saying nothing will go wrong.

The scene ends as we go through a rapid fire bunch of scenes:

- Code and Tess unveiling their creation: a human named Adam (LaKieth Stanfield)

- Bo (Marisa Tomei), a robot a build similar to Code but in red, as she walks to her desk with swagger.

- Code and Adam being chased by robotic authorities as Adam steals a car.

- Code and Adam in the wilderness at nighttime as the two are captivated by the beautiful displays of the fireflies next to them as Code holds one with his mechanical fingertip.

Framework

We then cut back to the lab as Adam calmly steps out as Code and Tess watch in awe.

Code: I am your creator, Code, together we will accomplish great things.

Adam: Okay, Cody

Code: No, it’s not Cody, it’s Code.

Adam: Cody seems like a much more appealing name.

Adam wanders around in the laboratory as Code and Tess try to stop him from accidentally destroying their work, as Adam finds a giant laser.

Code: As your creator, I demand you put it down.

Adam: (blowing a raspberry). Master Cody, you’ve given me the instructions of all of our society, I’m pretty sure I can handle a...

Adam accidentally activates a laser as it shoots off over the horizon destroying a building nearby.

Adam (nervously chuckles): Accidents Happens?

New Journey Pictures is scrapping multiple Y8 projects indefinitely. The projects being pulled from the Y8 schedule include:

Echelon

A Hop, Skip, and a Jump

Tealbird

The spokesperson's statement:

"We're not saying we're cancelling them, and we're not even saying they won't show up in Y8. It's just that... In terms of story, we have no story."

On Christie Monteiro, a spokesperson commented:

"There's elements of sensuality in this film that don't align with our beliefs. Normally we'd cancel it... But production is almost done. We're in the process of filming the climax, actually. I'm sure you understand that we can't cancel a project that's almost finished."

The schedule replacements are as follows:

Greg on All Fours

Director: Stephen Chbosky (Seeing Her)

Logline: A family torn by divorce must react when the teenage son transforms into a dog overnight.

Style: Live-action with a CGI dog.

Pre-Reading: This is a personal film similar to the way Tealbird was a personal film. @Spaghetti once offered to pre-read Tealbird, and I still owe him a pre-read from Y6, so I have him set to pre-read this at the moment.

The Orchid

Director: Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsmen and Ghost in the Shell (2017))

Logline: A nest of anthropomorphic wasps must choose a successor to the queen--and a treacherous male seeks the title relentlessly.

Style: "Live-Action" in which every role is done in motion capture.

Pre-Reading: This is the type of live-action film--like AvatarThe Lion King, Bambi: A Life in the Woods, and moments in the Scavenger Wars trilogy--where people will point to it and say it's animation. It therefore takes the slot once occupied by A Hop, Skip, and a Jump, meaning I have @YourMother the Edgelord set to pre-read this.

*This film is eyeing an IMAX slot.*

Worthless

Director: Fede Alvarez (Borrasca)

Logline: A community of humans are spurred into action when a trumpet blares from Heaven, announcing the start of the Biblical rapture.

Style: Thriller with elements of existential horror.

Pre-Reading: This'll take the mystery film slot, so I have @cookie and @Ethan Hunt set to pre-read this.

(Anyone who is set for a pre-read can change what they're pre-reading at any time. Anyone who isn't set for a pre-read and wishes to pre-read something may let me know about it.)

New Journey Pictures are making these changes because the company is "committing to taking a break from releasing films in Y9 and Y10." In terms of Y8, it means they are aiming to "transition into their moment of pause with a significant year of quality releases, which will still include Animal Crossing, The Catcher in the Rye, Christie Monteiro, Fullmetal Alchemist: A Tale of Two Brothers, No Mercy, Panzer Dragoon, and School of Sharks as of this writing." New Journey Pictures wishes to thank its fans and the other Cayom industry moguls ( @Alpha, @Blankments, @cannastop, @Reddroast, @Rorschach, @Xillix, @4815162342, @MCKillswitch123, and everyone else previously mentioned, as well as anyone I forgot to mention) for their continued support.

Additionally, New Journey Pictures will take this moment to announce a cast for Panzer Dragoon:

  • Mena Massoud
  • Geraldine Viswanathan
  • Said Taghmaoui
  • and Rami Malek, who plays the villain

Roar Uthaug (The Wave) will still direct.

Academy Award nominee Trevor Jackson (A Woman in The Crowd, Grown-ish, Broadway’s The Lion King) stars in The Wild Thornberrys as Kip, a loyal albeit an overly excitable dog who is Eliza’s daughter’s best friend as the family pet.

Chris Hemsworth (Crash Bandicoot, Marvel Cinematic Universe) is amongst the top choice of the actors being courted to play Eliza’s husband in the film. John Cleese (Monty Peyton, Shrek 2) is also being courted to play Darwin the Chimpanzee. The decisions for both isn’t final but more details of the project will arrive next week.
