More importantly, Nolan is their official in-house prestige director.

It helps Warner secure their image as the last director centric studio in the Hills.

They have Clint and Affleck too. Both of them have delivered way more prestige for WB with Oscar wins for Best Picture/Director.

Nolan is their big budget, big risk guy who keeps finding a way to turn profit for them on questionable projects. He is the most powerful person at WB but I wouldn't call him their prestige guy. Clint probably should have that title.

Yeah, I dunno how Paramount felt as domestic distributor but WB did very well with overseas gross near $490m.

Pretty sure Paramount will lose the rights to the Friday the 13th series back to WB  pretty soon too if they don't get a film out by 2018 meaning WB basically made off with a robbery.

Yeah WB had the better end of the deal I think.

I don't know how co-productions are structured but Interstellar made $47m profit so I assume it was split between Paramount, WB and Legendary.

They consider him their current Kubrick, prestigious enough I would say.

The Oscars can suck it.

Deep.

Believe one of our insiders @kowhite was very confident Paramount did get to share in some of the overseas money. So they didn't get completely screwed by WB.

A major box office record has been broken today! And it’s not related to superhero movies – it’s a big animation record:

Despicable Me is now the highest grossing animated franchise OF ALL TIME!

With today’s grosses, it has surpassed The Shrek franchise’s 3.51B and has now earned $3.55B becoming the highest grossing animated franchise IN BOX OFFICE HISTORY! And that’s with only 4 films compared to 5 films for the Shrek franchise.

2.8x will give Dark Tower 55 dom with 19.5 ow. I don't think it can beat that (by much).

Good news is that it's prod budget is only 60. Hopefully can do well OS.

Is a dom disappointment nevertheless. 70-80 was conservatively reasonable imo.

Yep, it is obvious that the interest was there but sadly they failed to deliver. I'm pretty crushed about it.
