That's great for MOTOE, especially if the budget is even close to $55M.

could get to 200m ww.

25m from china (looking at ~15m ow) + 85m (or more) dom = 110m+

90m from all other os markets is possible.

Not really. BvS actually had substance, tried to do something different and had lots of great things about it.

I don't know if you're joking or not, and I doubt your point of view is popular, but I agree with this. I just watched BvS again today, and its FAR more meaningful than most CBMs. I think it will stand as an anomaly, however. It appeals to the 80s nerd in me that found something different in Watchmen and the Dark Knight, which makes it far less audience-friendly to the modern 4Q audience. Justice League will probably be a shadow of what BvS was. So far this year, the only comic-related movie I liked was Professor Marston. Too each their own, of course, but I'm glad there's at least one counter to the self-aware feel-good action comedy that's so pervasive in this genre. I'm hoping Generation Z will grow older, find a taste for BvS, and not just follow this current trend. One can hope...

Both Johnny Depp and Mel Gibson are no longer box office poison

Johnny Depp's last non-Pirates movie to do more than 90m+ dom was Rango (123.5m in 2011). If you look at live-action then it's Public Enemies (97.1m in 2009). Lone Ranger came close to 90m (89.3m in 2013). Hopefully MOTOE makes it to that mark. The RT Audience score (started off barely fresh at 63%) and B Cinemascore is not that healthy though.

Actually, my sense is that the older you get, the more sophomoric it'll seem. But maybe that's just me...

Maybe you're just so old that you've looped around into being young again.

One can recognize what BvS tried to do but still feel the execution was poor.

You nailed it. I know my 14-year-old self would have adored Batman v. Superman and defended it to the ends of the earth for being so dark and gritty and defying audiences' expectations.

Honestly, between the existence of so many superhero movies in the last several years and the fact that Spider-Man: Homecoming is a high school superhero flick through and through, I feel like Hollywood inadvertently tapped into my teenage mind's interests and translated them to the screen a decade too late.
