I think we all do honestly. I didn't participate in the summer game by that point, but I did expect Civil War to do 500m+ a month before release. I think the overestimated "hype factor" caused some of us to go crazy with the predictions.

...At least we're getting it. Lots of people thought we weren't getting it after Apocalypse. And honestly? Anything over 500M WW should probably get us a sequel, which I know they have somehow planned anyway.

 

Also I'm not sure X-Men can really do much less than 500M WW considering that its fanbase is pretty much settled by now. I'm honestly expecting a worldwide number between Apocalypse-ish(First Class domestically which is 146M) and Logan. I think 450M WW is probably worst-case scenario.

JL:$8.85M, UP $0.48M /TOTAL:$172.02M

W:$5.38, UP $ 0.29M /TOTAL:$69.73M

So based on these projections (assuming nothing is adjusted up or down on Friday and Saturday):

 

Coco: 13.4M Sunday, 50.7M 3-day, 72.9M 5-day

JL: 8.8M Sunday, 41.2M 3-day (56% drop), 60.2M 5-day, 171.9M total

Wonder: 5.4M Sunday, 22.6M 3-day (17.5% drop), 32.5M 5-day, 69.7M total

Honestly, I can't see why it will have a worse multiplier than Moana when the latter faced big direct competition from Sing and wasn't a holiday film at any sense.

I think Coco may do $250m.

Latino movies play well on Sunday.  Expect a large 85 to 90% drop Monday.  At best, I think it will tie with Moana.

That would be a fantastic hold for Coco, no other Disney film has dropped less than 36% on that Sunday.

 

Slight improvement for JL but a 56% drop is still just bad, worse than everything than other than the Twilight movies. Still likely looking at a 60%+ drop next weekend and a 235-240 total.
