I don’t pay attention to audience scores but 68% is surprising, especially from 58,000 ratings. Thought the fanboys would be getting their 5 Star ratings in before they even watched it.

This may actually get a better GA rating though cause they don’t really care about the characters. It just dropped to 67...

I mentioned that before but someone pointed out that its not actually 58,000 ratings. All they have done is rolled over all the "want to see" numbers.

I've been noting the number from when the consensus first appeared and its only gone up by a few hundred, yet the audience score has plummeted.

We won't get a true consensus until we get to around 100,000.

Not really. IMDB users are notorious for rating films before they’ve even been released. Trolls have ruined online rating systems.

Wont be long til IMDB does away with that feature all together, similar to netflix.

Can we take a moment to ask why they chose Rian Johnson, a man whose never made a good movie in his life, to take on a Star Wars sequel.

3 mediocre movies: Looper, Brick and The Brothers Bloom.

You're shooting yourself in the foot here, why on earth didn't they take on a more accomplished director whose got some good movies under their belt. Also why wouldn't they write the scripts for all 3 movies together if they're already planned?

I feel barring a bigger drop this weekend JL will sustain well over the holidays and touch 240.

It needs 244 for a 2.6x multiplier and I hope it gets there but needs FB like holds from now on for that so seems out of reach.

I don't know if I really believe that RT audience score yet, I mean the IMDB score is still strong. It's confusing if so.

I personally didn't think it seemed like it would be a divisive movie at all. BEFORE I saw it, I definitely felt it would be, so I kept waiting every scene for something absolutely crazy to happen that I would never guess or that would somehow "ruin" Star Wars for someone. That just never came. I thought it was masterful, both visually and thematically. I didn't have such a positive reaction to TFA on my first viewing, it took two viewings for me to love the movie. I was tired the first time out though, made a mistake with that 7-movie marathon. I have seen TLJ twice now, can't wait for #3 tomorrow.

But if the die-hards are so mixed on it, if it's a movie you either love or hate, I wonder how that will affect the box office. Will general audiences hear conflicting reports from friends, see the critic scores, and then decide, huh, better see it myself and make up my own mind? Or will they be swayed by a few friends who hated it and figure, meh, wait for home video. I really don't know.

PS: Michael Bay doing Star Wars? Rain Johnson hasn't made a good movie?! lol Looper was a great movie! He did amazing here too, seriously he was the Jedi Master of this shit. I felt like he was a master at work, so many little details I can point to where he just made brilliant directorial decisions. I was loving it.

Jonnyboy that's not confusing in the slightest, the IMBD score got ratings from people who hadn't seen the film yet.
