Wednesday Numbers(27/12/17):TLJ $22m

Recommended Posts

It’s not really under estimates though it’s over. Rth said about $22M and it was about that. The-numbers posted hours ago $21.5 and it was well above that, which was an official-ish estimate.

Off-topic maybe, but im listening to some Prequel music and i remember why i think John Williams deserves some sort of statue or monument.

Duel of the Fates. Across the Stars. Battle of the Heroes. Anakins Betrayal. March on the Jedi Temple.

Perfection. I often shit on the prequels, but the music is just absolutely phenomenal.

So BoxOffice.com thinks 20% decline? Seems very pessimistic. That’s 21-21-14 for the three days. Why would it increase 0% on Friday and 0% Saturday? I would have it at 23-26-17 personally. Small 15% increase or so both Friday and Saturday.

Bottom line I see 5-10% decline this weekend not 20%.

FWIW, their projection is for a 20% drop for the 4-day weekend. New Year’s Day could be a lot weaker than Christmas. Look at the weekly drops from Monday to Monday in 2006.

Will finish with 312-314 million in the end.

I remember many predictions from the time before Justice League imploded, that Thor would miss the 300M :hahaha:

I thin people started to come around 300M when the teaser blew minds and beat the crap out of TLJ teaser in views and quality.

Not surprised tbh. I had a feeling the stronger December competition would hurt it.

Pitch Perfect 3 stabilizes. Some here calling it a bomb were a little fast with their judgement i think.

I want better numbers for Coco :( Movie deserves all the money in the world.

Happy to see both DH2 and MOTOE cross that 100M.

I see it, $21,846,132-21%. Good number. Closer to 22M than yesterday number was close to whatever estimate was given.

I'm going to go ahead and bust out some science powah here:

Technically, actuals did not drop from Asgard.  Rth gave us $22M, which is only two significant figures.

That means for actuals with three significant figures, anything between 21.5M and 22.4M would still qualify as 22M.

So Rth was right on the money.

Don't doubt the guy, he's a hero.
