This is almost a bigger fail than his Deadpool prediction. Not trying to hate on Ethan btw. We all make predictions for which we look stupid later on, but I just remembered this right now. But it only opened to around 65 and then had only about 1.5x multi. IW presales are massive but we dont know how frontloaded it is gonna be. For all we know it could open to 175 only and then only manage a 1.75 multi like SMH and finish at 300m. I dont think IW’s ratings and WoM will be as weak as BP’s though and it should manage a better multi that that It is mistaken to compare BP to AIW in a Chinese context. BP to the Chinese is just another MCU film (and a bit weird one at that) whereas AIW is the "real deal" so to speak. It's also extremely loaded with top-notch action which is extremely attractive to Chinese audiences. BP was extremely light on set-pieces and this hurt it a lot in some international markets.
