“When A Cowboy Trades His Spurs For Wings” from “The Ballad of Buster Scruggs”
“Treasure” from “Beautiful Boy”
“All The Stars” from “Black Panther”
“Revelation” from “Boy Erased”
“Girl In The Movies” from “Dumplin’”
“We Won’t Move” from “The Hate U Give”
“The Place Where Lost Things Go” from “Mary Poppins Returns”
“Trip A Little Light Fantastic” from “Mary Poppins Returns”
“Keep Reachin’” from “Quincy”
“I’ll Fight” from “RBG”
“A Place Called Slaughter Race” from “Ralph Breaks the Internet”
“OYAHYTT” from “Sorry to Bother You”
“Shallow” from “A Star Is Born”
“Suspirium” from “Suspiria”
“The Big Unknown” from “Widows

I've quoted the shortlisted songs onto the new page for ease of access.

(A little disappointed that the song from A Private War didn't make it, but I'm not devastated. No shoutout to Hearts Beat Loud is also disappointing, but understandable. The Widows song is a nice surprise because I'm sure I'm not the only one who would want to see Sadé perform it onstage. I still need to listen to the majority of these.)

wow these cowards snubbed Venom smh. hope the buster scruggs song gets nominated.

Sunflower too. Their MCU bias is showing!

Predictions:

1. A Star Is Born

2. Black Panther

3. One of the MPR songs

4. Ralph

5. Buster Scruggs

Alt: Boy Erased

4/5 of the nominations could be from Disney movies. Sidenote: glad to see OYAHYTT made the shortlist

after seeing it i can't say i get why the lamplighters song from mary poppins returns is one of the two disney chose to submit. it's maybe the weakest song in the film to me. just for my sake i'm gonna say the other one gets nominated.

Just getting out of the movie, I feel like part of it comes down to being the most complex number in the whole movie. Lasts five minutes with a whole bunch of choreography and staging. Whether or not the song's memorable, the scene in context certainly is.

if we're going for memorable scenes i'd submit the song from the cartoon bit, or the bath scene. those were better scenes and songs.

They'll give it to Lin Manuel just because. Wish they gave out Oscars for his Hamilton score though.

he should have gotten it for the song or soundtrack to Moana. even though the first time I watched I was indifferent to it, the more you watch it the more you like it.  that's quality.
