AniNate
I don't think embargoes are necessarily initiated by the studios all the time. The trade publications probably have some sort of agreement with them so that they can be first and reach optimal reading audience.

Valonqar
Screw this spot, it has more Streep than March sisters. Only Pugh can save us from default Streep nomination.

Valonqar
So that's Pugh's Oscar clip that everyone is talking about. It's very good. Streep iceberg averted.

Unless it's a festival play though most trades, magazines and newspapers don't release reviews until the week of when more people are looking for them. AniNate
What I mean is they have some sort of agreement with the studio that no one else can release a review until they do, at whatever day/time they see fit.
TheDarkKnightOfSteel
Anyone knows when the popular critics will at least start sharing their thoughts on social media ? Eric the Fall Guy
https://www.thewrap.com/little-women-film-review-2019-greta-gerwig-saoirse-ronan/ Quote Pugh and Chalamet may be the standouts in an impressive cast That's right. https://www.usatoday.com/story/entertainment/movies/2019/11/25/little-women-review-greta-gerwig-cleverly-adapts-beloved-classic/4282503002/ Quote And if you didn’t get the hype for Chalamet after “Call Me By Your Name” and “Lady Bird,” this’ll do it. He’s all floppy-haired charm and broody gravitas as Laurie, who busts out jerking dance moves with Ronan’s Jo that lean a bit futuristic at a Civil War-era shindig (but still are fun to behold). That's also right.

TheDarkKnightOfSteel
Watson, my girl, shutting up the naysayers.Ronan and Pugh will get nominated. The film has a very good shot at Best Picture (maybe the runner up to Irishman). Gerwig seems to be getting her second nomination. And the cast will definitely get the SAG Ensemble.Great stuff all around.
The Futurist
TAOCPOL-CU is my favourite CU. Third Adaptation Of a Classic Piece Of Literature Cinematic Universe. (or is there more ?). Creativity is back in mature, adult, artistic filmmaking, thank God. Edited November 26, 2019 by The Futurist

filmlover
Christmas Day can't get here fast enough. Also some are saying this is a great family movie too. Feel like a $100M+ breakout for this is only becoming more apparent with each day given everything it has going for it and all the demos it appeals to.

The last time Christmas Day was on a Wednesday was 6 years ago. Although completely different subject matter, it will have a similar box office run to Wolf of Wall Street. With Cats likely to flop, Last Christmas flopping and Black Christmas likely to under perform, it will be the first live-action movie targeting females since Hustlers. This is well deserved of a big breakout hit.
forg
I read on Awards Watch forum that the embargo lift was timed to the release of screeners to the Screen Actors Guild Awards voters. That's quite good strategy
Noctis
This was why the little bitches who focused on one or two tweets saying that Watson was the weakest really needed to shut the fuck up when it came to actual publications. The last two reviews have basically stated that Pugh is the best but the entire cast is excellent.
