From my point of view many people in BOT are not happy that CM got this good reception.

Whatever you want to call it.

CM was the first introduction of new character unlike Aquaman and BP and still made it to 1B+

Besides its budget is only 152M less than AQ and BP. So suck it up. 😁😁

Perfect example:   Fast 8.  Fate of the Furious did $1.2+ billion.  I don't believe CM will catch that number. It was treated as "meh" on here. Both movies probably cost around the same ballpark to make,  F8 did better overseas and CM is doing better here in North America.  Nobody was tracking F8 every day and saying what a great run at the box office it's having.  In fact, people were saying it should have done more. Again,  CM will not reach $1.2B

It's not some kind of bias towards captain marvel specifically, but anyone who's been on these Forums for a while knows that CBM's generally get the most excitement by a lot of members on this board. Any CBM really gets tracked daily until the end of its run, not just Captain Marvel. So yea, you're right in saying CM got more excitement than F8, but it's simple due to the fact that it's a superhero movie, and there are a lot of superhero stans on this site (which isn't a bad thing of course). But it isn't some conspiracy surrounding the movie itself.

One thing I've noticed too is that a lot of the Forum veterans get pretty excited when ANY movie has a huge gross, regardless of the genre. It's more the part-time posters (100-1000 posts) who stan for a particular franchise or brand. Those of us (most of us anyway) with 10,000+ posts on this site are more interested in the box office gross itself rather than what franchise the movie comes from.

Captain Marvel will cross ¥1billion early Thursday, becoming just the fourth MCU movie to cross the milestone in China - after Age of Ultron, Civil War, and Infinity War.

After Wednesday, CM had earned approximately $148.57m, or just under ¥999.5m. It's likely to earn another ¥4m+ today, and will undoubtedly enter the weekend above a billion.

No it is not about Fanboy wars. I am against that shit.

My point is CM is the first time introduction of a character.

AQ : Justice League

BP : Civil war.

Why would EG have a negative effect on a marvel property? It’s done nothing but boost the success of CM.

Because it looks like EG will saturate the screens at week 6 of CMs run.
