I'm happy with both dates. This would have been completely overshadowed by Avatar and Aquaman will do better on Xmas again.

 

But I'm surprised that they didn't say anything about Flash and Blue Beetle.

Smart move, this would have been unfairly steamrolled by Avatar if it stuck to Christmas. I bet Sandberg is relieved.

I think it could’ve done well as the other option against Avatar.
 

It’ll still lose all its PLF’s to John Wick 4 six days after it opens.

I think a number of factors are at play here; Warners cannot afford to take chances with it;s big films, and going up against Avatar 2 was clearly an risk they did not want to take.

But that they basically gutted the release schedule for the rest of 2022 indicates they have to cut expenses to the bone for the rest of the year.  Warners might well in worse shape then we thought of they are having cash flow problems.

Not sure about all PLFs. I'm guessing WB will keep IMAX for a while.
