I did this for fun.  Previews and midnights taken out and see what are the biggest days. DH2 is definitely short changed since people that went midnight would have definitely gone on to see it on OD but still it's an interesting chart to look at. Marvel's Saturday's are truly historic!!!!!!!

For me, Endgame making 357M dom OW but just a tad short of 100M above A:IW dom OW is the best of both world. A:IW is such a well made epic movie and it set up perfectly  the hype and anticipation of Endgame, by having a cliffhanger that arguably somewhat affected its legs. It deserves not to be surpassed by more than 100M 😋

Ladies and gents, its all but guaranteed that well have a 500M+ weekly gross from April 26 to May 2nd. That will be only the 3rd time that happens - but: the first two were with TFA in December with them holidy legs.

500M+ in late April/early May though? Fucking nuts.

If you take out China, was the international rollout for EG the same as for IW? If so, the increase overseas minus China is substantial and lends even more credence to the notion that this will be bonkers enough overseas to pass Avatar.

Pretty much the same. IW had China and Russia opening 1 week later, EG has just Russia this time.

So, the last post needed ages till it was up, and even longer till I get to see it. Means more than half an hour per post,...

:pcwhack:

I guess I am out for today (my local time is tomorrow anyway)

Thanks! Okay, so minus China the overseas gross of IW JUST passed $1B ($1,010,001,119 to be exact) off an opening of $382,823,108. That's a multiplier of 2.638.

Minus China ($330.5M opening, as far as I know), EG's overseas opening works out to $536M. Using the above multiplier, that gets the overseas minus China total to just over $1.4B.

The latest on China is that it could reach $600M there. It's due for an insane Wednesday-Saturday there due to the holiday. If so, there's your $2B overseas total.

I know we can't just assume the legs will be the same given the huge numbers we're dealing with, but the counter argument to that is that people around the world are in love with this film and will want to see it again and again. It's like the Titanic of CBM's. Add in the domestic total which could very well reach $900M and, yes, this will pass Avatar!
