So humble he gave up on his team for a whole year with a "knee" injury then asked to be traded from the team that believed in him and traded him all because he wanted more glory.

Spurs mishandled his injury and tony Parker called him soft. 

 

People been calling Kawhi a system player forever and as soon he leaves spurs. He looks even better lol

Batman Begins had much better reception than Pika is getting so far

Begins also had incredible Home Video sales. Something that doesn't factor in as much these days, if much at all.

How could they mishandle an injury when he doesn't see the team's doctors? If his knee was so mishandled by the Spurs, how did he have such a great season? All while complaining the Spurs didn't give him stuff he never asked for.

 

Tony Parker isn't a liar, he has great character. Great guy all around. Big fan of his.

Great news for Pikachu. 

It will beat the 1999 Pokémon film ($152m adjusted) to be the number two video game adaption of all time. 

 

Two out of the top 3 video game adaptations are Pokémon movies (adj.) Who knew?!

 

Endgame will settle snuggly in the #2 spot on the all time list. Will likely beat Avatar’s admissions.

Don’t want to do a fan war thing here, just a quick thought since I popped in and saw some discussion related to this.    

 

Iron Man was a top 50 WW movie, just missed top 40 iirc (in today’s terms this is like 950M-1B)

 

Detective Pikachu is unlikely to break the top 200.      

 

Can a universe be created with this as its start, yes. Is it remotely comparable to IM1’s excellent performance, no. 585M in 2008 is so far removed from 585M now that it’s not even funny.

I think Detective Pikachu's performance will be enough to justify the sequel in development, but not a whole cinematic universe.

People want more Pokemon live action films and now with the first one under the wings all they truly need to do is work a bit on the script portions. They nailed the pokemon designs and whichever date they pick will be set cause they won't be competing against the second biggest film of all time.

That remains to be seen, it has a great chance of missing that mark. HTTYD3 had much better reviews and only got Shrek the Third legs

Not to mention the Joker is the most widely known comic book villain, what do the Pokemon franchise has to offer to the General Audiences to get that kind of boost to Pokemon 2' box office? Nothing

I mean, they "Universed" Unbreakable/Split/Glass; might as well "Universe" anything that turns a profit!  Now if only they do a Jigglypuff + Inception mashup. 😁
