And opens against Halloween Kills. Could be some audience overlap.

I’m sure Venom will win and have all the PLF’s or still have to share them with Bond.

At my closest Cineworld, Venom has tickets up for 11am and 9pm in IMAX on opening weekend. Guessing they’re squeezing in a couple of Bond showings between them. Crossing my fingers for an 11pm Halloween Kills, but not holding my breath.

Interesting! Venom has 14 showings on sale just now at mine and none of them are superscreen, vip or 4DX… yet.

It’s got everything where I am in Sheffield. It’s got 4DX all day, Screen X until 6:20pm (assuming there will be probably be a Bond showing in there around 8pm), and one of the VIP screens. I’d imagine it’ll take the SuperScreens elsewhere too.

It definitely seems like Halloween is getting shafted when it comes to PLF’s, which is unfair considering it staked out the PFL’s well before Venom did. I can’t imagine Universal is very happy about it.

I’m assuming my local just hasn’t added the rest of the showings yet, they might be deciding what to do with Bond. No other films have showtimes yet.

So annoying about Halloween Kills, knew this would happen unfortunately.

Next weekend I’m seeing Last Night in Soho early, then Scream on the Tuesday, Halloween Kills on the Friday and Titane on the Saturday. It should be a great week for horror.

Down here it's a full 4DX screen, 2 IMAX shows, full Screen X and a load of 2D.

Hard to compare this to Spectre since Spectre was a 7 days opening. But any record rivaling pre-pandemic time is definitely earth-shattering .

Spectre did 95m gbp in 2015 while domestic did $200m back then. Using same ratio, this should signal some......$54m opening for NTTD next week?

It should open closer to $100m in the US than $50m. I think a reasonable expectation is between $75-80m, although some are predicting higher.

I have no idea what NTTD will do in the US but $54m feels low. That would equivalent to Casino Royale OW numbers adjusted. $70-75 perhaps?

They really have a weird thing for these films at the BBFC, there’s nothing in either of these movies that you wouldn’t see or hear in a typical MCU movie. Venom having the same rating as The Suicide Squad is a bit of a joke.

I think Venom has mild gory elements that pushes to a 15, there's a fair number of PG-13 rated films in recent years that end up being 15 rated because of those elements like The Mummy.

I think NTTD will have a halo effect on the upcoming slate, maybe not Venom because that's aimed at a younger audience but Dune shares some of the audience that watches Bond plus Denis Villeneuve's previous films have done well in the UK like Blade Runner and Arrival.

So it is likely only Spetre that underperform in US. Skyfall did like 3x in USA over UK ($303m vs 103m pound) in 2012.
